A few weeks ago, my friend Jen Del Muro issued a challenge to several stampers. She sent us each a stamped image of Night Things by Penny Black. The challenge was to make it into a card (or project) and post it to our blogs. It will be fun to see what everyone does with the same image! You'll be able to see all the links to the others' projects on Jen's blog sometime Saturday.
So for my card, I started with the 5.25" square that I've been hooked on lately and used three different patterns from Stampin' Up's Creepy Crawly double-sided designer paper. The sentiment is punched with SU's Word Window Punch from a sheet of words from this same paper pack.
I colored these adorable trick-or-treaters (do they seriously think they are scaring anyone?!!) using Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pens by outlining small areas at a time and using a pointed cosmetic applicator to pull/push the color around so it wouldn't be as opaque in some areas. Other areas like kitty's legs, tail, ears and owl's eyes & wings were colored solid with the pens, to give some shading. They are SO sparkly IRL!
Pen colors used were: bronze, copper, golden & black.
A piece of narrow white organdy ribbon (Stampin' Up!) finishes off the main image that was mounted with dimensionals to the card. Thanks for the fun challenge, Jen!
