Favorite Copic Colors
Since I get asked this question frequently, I thought I'd finally put together a list of my favorite Copic colors and combinations. I've included photos but you know how inaccurate colors can look on your monitor and over the Internet. I would highly recommend that if you have the opportunity, to use someone else's Copics and/or can test them in a store -- that is the most accurate way to select your colors. But by listing some of my favorites, I thought that might help in your decision making.
My friend & stamping genius, Debbie Olson, had listed her favorite copic colors on her blog's sidebar and I asked if she'd mind if I did the same -- I thought it was an excellent idea. You should also check out her favorites, because ours vary a bit and it's interesting/good to have a few opinions/different options, too!
These swatches are done on Georgia Pacific (from WalMart) white cardstock. I didn't alter my photos other than to lighten them up a bit, but still the RV's shown below are looking a bit too bright -- they are a little more subtle in person. On the Red combos below, the top selection is a darker version of the bottom selection. My favorite "true" red (to me!) is R29. These are a more coral selection of the reds. The R81/R83 on the far right is a very nice mauvy-rose combo:
The YR21 below is my very favorite yellow -- reminds me of Stampin' Up's So Saffron. Y21 is a very close match, just a little bit lighter. I've included it with a combo up to a mustard color. These greens are my favorites to use for leaves; they are a softer, mossy green grouping. These lighter blue-greens are a great turquoise combo:
Below is the darker blue-green combo (on the far left) I like, followed by some lighter blues (the lighter B21 is very close to Stampin' Up's Bashful Blue, so it's looking a little darker here on my monitor). For the Earths combo below, you could add E21 for a lighter, caramel to the top of the combo and E29 for a darker chocolate brown at the bottom of the scale.
I'll be adding this list of combinations to the sidebar of my blog, so it will be easy to find. I hope these combos help you in your selections!
Edited: I've moved my favorite color combinations from my sidebar to a Copic Information page. You can either click on THIS LINK or find the link in my Pages list under my photo at the top left. Enjoy!

Ohhh! How did you know my favorite combo is the BG72, BG75, BG78? Thanks for posting!

Sharon...you so rock! Thank you for sharing your fav colours with us. We should do a blog challenge for anyone with Copics and have everyone list their colour combos and then compile it. I always love to see what other crafters use too.

This is great!!! I'm still so new I'm not even sure which colors I have without taking my markers out to look, but I'll certainly do a comparison to your charts -- thanks!!!
