About a month ago, after seeing how easy my friend, Jessica Witty, made making homemade jam look, I had to give it a try for the first time! My aunt that used to live in California with an abundance of pineapples, used to make the BEST pineapple jam and I always remember her having fresh batches of it for us whenever we visited. Since I hadn't had it in a very long time, I figured it was about time I try making my own! I followed a recipe I found at the Sure Jell website.
I thought we might give the jam as gifts around Thanksgiving so, of course, I wanted some pretty packaging . . . my JustRite Small Letter Set was perfect to create the wording on my custom label, using the Harmony Classic Circle Stamper II.
After stamping the border of words, I used Papertrey Ink's First Fruits stamp set to stamp a pineapple in the center (this stamp is actually supposed to be used as an acorn but I modified it!). Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Circle Nestabilities dies were used to cut and mat the label.
For the jar tops, I used JustRite's Baking Set Ensemble border that reads "Family Secret Recipe From our house to yours" and stamped another pineapple in the center.
Speaking of Justrite, if you get a chance, go by the their blog and vote for winners in the Pre-Inked Stamping Contest.
PTI Spring Moss satin ribbon accents the top label. A strip of PTI's First Fruits pineapple patterned paper was scalloped and wrapped around the jar.
So if you've read this far, you're just ready to win the blog giveaway, right?!! Sorry, it's not my homemade jam (I don't think that would mail too well!) but here's what I have to give away, compliments of my weekend with Ms. Marianne from Copic . . . a zip bag full of an assortment of Copic products for you to try out! One of each style marker (Ciao & Copic Original), two Sketch markers and a Gold Spica glitter pen:
All you have to do is leave me a comment below. One entry per person, please. I'll leave the comments open until this Thursday, October 23 at 10pm CST and then draw a random winner and post the winning announcement on Friday morning.
Double the fun . . . my friend, Lori Craig, has her own fabulous jam recipe to share with you today over at her blog AND a great Copic gift package of her own to give away, so be sure to check that out, too!
COMMENTS FOR THIS GIVEAWAY ARE NOW CLOSED. WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24 AT 8:30AM.

Oh, yum...that jam is perfect for gift giving. Homemade is sooo appreciated. Thanks for the great idea!!

Pineapple Jam sounds wonderful. Have you ever made banana jam...it is the BEST with a peanut butter sandwich, or with a nut butter such as chocolate hazelnut. Oh my garsh, I'm drooling!!!! I've made banana jam all my life and it's my favorite next to Strawberry-rhubarb. Any way, enough drooling, put my name in the hat for your copic give away. I've been wanting to try those markers, but since I have so many other brand names, I wasn't sure if I should spend more money on markers, if the ones I have will do the job. I would like to try them and find out, so I hope I win! Also, you gave me an excellent idea how to decorate my jam jars, Thank You! Debi E from Rittman, OH

If you can do it, then I guess I could do it. I haven't made jam for "many a year" and then it was usually freezer Strawberry jam -- making my mouth water as I type ;-)
How wonderful it would be to win some Copics -- something on my wishlist that hasn't come to pass. I LOVE your work, Sharon!

Pineapple jam and Copics....what a great combination! I grew up in pineapple country, worked the pineapple fields during the summer to earn $ for college expenses and still love to eat pineapples. Copics are a cardmakers premium tool. The few that I have are great to work with. Love the Copics and Pineapples.

Very nice, Sharon! Bet it is delicious. We made crabapple jelly at the cabin last week...ours was to eat rather than to give away, so we didn't do the lovely packaging like you! Thanks for sharing.
