It's Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge time again -- she's been putting together some very easy ones to work with. I hope you'll play along -- this one has so many possibilities, I think! I can't wait to see what the other girls came up with . . . here's mine that I incorporated an Inchie into:
It was so much fun to finally get to play with this new Spellbinders Labels One die that I had coveted since this summer! I used the largest one to cut this beautiful green tree limb patterned paper from Memory Box's Winterberry collection. The burgundy card base is another pattern from this collection.
I choose Karen Lockhart's Two Acorns (#5004) to color with these Copic markers:
Then I cut out the acorn image with a Spellbinders Classic Oval Nestabilities die and while the image was still in the die, I used Copic's Airbrush System and Copic E15 Dark Suntan to airbrush around the outside edges. A brown button tied with linen thread accents this focal image.
I used Lockhart Stamp Company's Give Thanks (#10002) sentiment to ink and stamp the words individually with Memento Rich Cocoa ink directly onto an Inchie Arts White Inchie Square. The sentiment is originally in one long horizontal line, as you can see on the coordinating envelope. I added the Lockhart Itty Bitty Acorn (#3015) in the upper left corner of the Inchie and then also used it to stamp acorns down the left side of my envelope. Then I used Copic E00 Skin White to color in the background of my Inchie. It is accented with light green gemstone crystals that I colored with Copic G28 Ocean Green marker to match the patterned paper. E09 Burnt Sienna Copic marker edges the Inchie square. The Inchie is popped up on dimensional foam tape.
I hope you'll try out this sketch this weekend and be sure to check out these ladies' lovely sketch samples, too! Beate, Cambria, Charmaine, Jenn, Lori and Mary Jo . I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I hope to get something else made today to show you over the weekend . . . take care!
