This is my sample for my Weekend Sketch Challenge #92 <-- you can find the sketch there (one post below this one). I thought these Basic Grey Ambrosia papers had a nice warm Fall-ish feel to them and I enjoy drinking hot tea in the Fall/Winter, so I thought it would be a perfect compliment to Karen Lockhart's Tea Bag (#2066) image.
This image is the perfect size for an Inchie Arts White Inchie Square ... minus the bag's string! So I decided to run it off the Inchie, using some embroidery floss. I stamped the image on the Inchie Square with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it with these Copic markers:
Copics blend beautifully on the museum-quality of the Inchie Squares -- just like butter! I framed the Inchie with a Spellbinders Labels One Nestabilities die cut. This card is 4.50" square, so it will still fit in a regular A2-sized envelope.
I hope you'll play along with this week's sketch challenge. If you do, please be sure to add a link to your project on the WSC92 post below this one.
If you haven't visited here this week, be sure to enter my giveawaytwo posts below this one, for the chance to win a brand new stamp set from Our Craft Lounge's Holiday 2009 release!
It's Weekend Sketch Challenge time again and I'm your hostess this week.
To participate in the challenge, make a project with this layout and upload it either to your blog, or to an online gallery. If you upload your card on Splitcoaststampers, please put WSC92 (NO SPACE BETWEEN WSC AND 92) in the key word section, so we can look at all of them at once!
Post a link to your project in Mr. Linky below (if it's not showing up, you can just leave a comment on this post):
I will let Random.org choose one entry and share that project here on my blog Tuesday at 11am CST.
Welcome to Our Craft Lounge's Holiday 2009 release & blog hop -- 31 new stamp sets are debuting today! You can find a list of retailers HERE that carry OCL stamps, or my favorite online retailer is eclectic Paperie.
To celebrate, OCL is giving away one of each set! You can find a list of all the designer's blogs that are giving away the stamp sets at the OCL blog. Each designer also has wonderful samples made with these sets. The set OCL provided for me to give away today is Ghostly Greetings -- it's a clear acrylic stamp set, illustrated by Marianne Walker:
Aren't these ghosts adorable?!! I love that they look like Casper the Friendly Ghost! Here's a gift set I made with these stamps:
The sweet girl ghost was stamped on vellum cardstock and then colored on the reverse side of the vellum with Copic markers YR09 & T3, to ensure the stamped ink wouldn't smear. Sometimes ink will not fully dry on vellum and smear, but your Copics will color and dry beautifully on vellum!
On the front of the vellum, I used Clear Copic Spica Glitter pen to color in the the ghost (hopefully you can see the sparkle in this close up -- click on the photo for a larger view):
I trimmed the vellum a little smaller than this tag from My Mind's Eye and attached the vellum to the tag with a glue dot hidden beneath the button.
I used this week's CPS #127 sketch for the layout of this card. Some May Arts wide black lace (from one of Jody's ribbon shares) was used behind the tag, to resemble webbing. A double row of holes was pierced on the end of the scalloped tag.
I also made a gift tag to attach to a frappuccino bottle filled with candy. This time, I used the sweet little pumpkin and the "You've Been Boo'd" sentiment:
Google eyes were a must with this sentiment, I thought! It was colored with Copic markers Y02, YR12 & YR09. More wide black lace trim was tied around the frappuccino bottle and then the tag tied to the lace.
For a chance to win this Ghostly Greetings stamp set, you have until this Sunday, August 9 at 8pm Central to leave a comment on this post, at which time I'll choose one random entry as the winner. Please, only one entry per person and be sure to include an email address where you can be contacted, should you win. Thanks!

Here's my sweet snowman creation:
Aren't those little birds darling?! I adore snowmen and was thrilled to be able to work with this set. The images were stamped, cut out, and colored with these Copic markers:
The image was then glued onto a Cosmo Cricket Wonderland tag and a glittered ghost snowflake shape added. I used this week's sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com for the layout.
Did you know Our Craft Lounge also has its own online forum community? You can find them HERE. They post all sorts of fun challenges and contests for you there, too.
