Thank you for hopping along today with the Gina K Design Team today! If you arrived here from Lori McAree's blog, then you're right where you should be. You can always go to StampTV to start from the beginning.
The inspiration for today's hop came from Melanie Muenchinger's new book called A Year of Flowers:
While you can make every design in the book with Melanie’s all occasion “A Year of Flowers” stamp set, today’s blog hop samples showcase her coordinating floral stamp sets which can also be used with the book's tutorials and designs, and provide endless options and more value for your money. We are excited to share cards and projects we created using some of our favorite flower sets designed by Melanie! We love her new book and know you will too - don't miss out on getting your very own copy which you can purchase HERE!
My sample uses Buds & Vases. This is such a fun set, with three different containers for two different bouquets! I colored these pretty flowers with a flicking/feather blending technique with my Copic markers (of course!):
Stamping the flowers in a soft gray ink (Memento London Fog), allows the coloring to be the main focus and more realistic! I used R81, R83, R85, YR31 (flowers) and YG61, YG63 (leaves).
The vase was stamped with Adirondack Slate dye ink onto vellum and clear embossed, then cut out and attached over the flower stems which were stamped with Bundled Sage Distress Ink (sentiment was stamped with same ink).
The white seam binding ribbon was hand dyed with Copic Various Ink Refills (I've forgotten exactly which colors -- it was lying on my desk and happened to match pretty well!). The scalloped bottom edge of the Gina K Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight White card base was die cut with Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Edgeabilities.
We hope you're finding some great inspiration and wonderful designs today to get your creativity jump-started! You can find the newest stamp sets and lots of wonderful accessories in Gina's Store. And then join us on Stamp TV for the challenges and surprises and crafty videos galore!
