PROJECTS (all supplies are linked at bottom of post):
I had fun making some more Copic "watercolor" backgrounds for these Christmas cards (except this time I used Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper instead of glossy cardstock) ... you can find the complete tutorial HERE on Ellen's the CLASSroom blog.
For the blue card, I used Copic Various Ink Refills B23 and BG53. For most of the backgrounds I made, I centered the acrylic block on the A2 card sized (4.25" x 5.50") piece of specialty paper but for this blue background I stamped twice, covering the entire piece, and ended up with this great "hill" that I thought would be perfect for the Christmas Scribbles tree! The tree was stamped with Ranger Jet Black Archival ink:
Next, to create the "snow" (or rain? I guess it could be either!) I created a stamp pad out of paper towel and wet it with CopicColorless Blender Solution. Then I used the large cluster of dots from the Bokeh Dots stamp set and wet the stamp/picked up the Blender Solution from the paper towel, then stamped onto the background:
Here's a closer look at the resulting "snowy" or "rainy" effect ... Fun, right?!!
My next card/background was created similarly as above, using Copic RV55 and YG23 Various Ink Refills, stamped in the center of the white panel:
I really like how the pink and green blended together to create some orange and red! The Home & Hearth houses were die cut out of the background (save those window pieces!) and popped up on foam tape over the Licorice Twist card front, then the windows adhered on the flat black card front (the QuickStik makes this an easier job!) -- I love the dimension!
Next, I have some holiday tags made with the adorable Twelve Days stamp set. I seriously squealed when I first saw this sweet set -- I know Julie MUST have designed it just for me (bwahahaha!!) . . . so I just HAD to make some of my favorite tags with it!
My tag bases are the fantastic Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 1Tag die (measures 2-3/4" wide x 4"), cut from Neenah Natural White cardstock. Each of the images were stamped with either Memento Tuxedo Black or Rhubarb Stalk ink onto My Favorite Things' Decorative Circle Tag STAX(this tag die set has been retired but Ellen still has some in stock, so if you really like it, you might want to scoop it up before it's gone!).
Here are the next three tags (now I just have six left to make!)
Don't you LOVE Julie's cute, whimsical illustration style?!! And guess what? This fabulous brand new stamp set could be yours . . . See the Giveaway details below!
