Stitched Together With Love

StitchedFamilyLO-SH

Here's a recent 12" heritage scrapbook page I made, using Webster's Pages Hello Beautiful patterned papers -- this is my husband's Dad and my Mom (our childrens' only living grandparents).  I used JustRite Stampers' Special Occasions & Times New Roman papercrafting fonts for the "Family" title.  The letters were inked with ColorBox Warm Red and Dark Brown fluid chalk inks.  I cut and bended the title into a banner shape and faux stitched the straight edge, adding some tied buttons:

The "Stitched Together With Love" title blocks were made to resemble a quilt, by using Spellbinders Classic Square Nestabilities to cut out some patterned paper.  I then custom made the "Stitched" and "Together" by using JustRite's Special Occasions & Times New Roman papercrafting fonts again.  The "With Love" is a center from JustRite's Harmony Classic Circle Stamper II Stamp Ensemble.

I faux stitched around each square, and then matted each square with Spellbinders' new Inverted Scalloped Square Nestabilities (available sometime in March).

I printed the photo in sepia tones and matted it with a cut of the new 12" Grand Classic Lace Border I previewed in Spellbinders new CHA release of dies

The Tags Trio was stamped with JustRite's Times New Roman papercrafting font.  The large flower accent is Spellbinders' new Dahlia flower die (also available in March).

I should have some new JustRite products that were released at CHA to show you in a few weeks ... so be on the watch for those!

Beautiful Girls Layout

BeautifulGirlsLO-SH

With the Spellbinders Blog Frenzy starting this week and sneek previews of all the new Winter CHA dies being revealed, I thought I would show you some recent Spellbinders projects I've been busy with.  This 12-inch scrapbook page of my daughters came together quickly by using this fabulous new Hello Beautiful paper collection by Webster's Pages.  I seriously think Terri Conrad designed this paper just for me, LOL!  I adore this color of red and combined with my favorite neutral colors of brown and cream . . . it's just to die for!  Luckily, these nightgowns of my girls at Christmas two years ago matched perfectly . . . are they camera hams or what?!!

I worked around the pattern in this paper by placing the photo underneath slots I cut out, letting the rosebud and leaves frame it.  It's matted with Prism Blush Red Dark and using parts of Spellbinders 12-inch Grand Illumination Border -- aren't those swirls pretty and frame the photo perfectly?

BeautifulGirlsPhotoSH

I decided to use the word "Beautiful", already printed on the paper, as my page title and directed attention to it by placing a scalloped piece of Rectangle die underneath it.  It is also accented with a tied button.

The journaling was computer generated onto more Webster's Hello Beautiful paper (already lined) and cut with Spellbinders Labels One die, using the Reverse Stenciling technique I've shown you before.  This was my absolute favorite die introduced last summer at CHA and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it!  It seems you all agree, as it looks to be sold out at many retailers!

BeautifulGirlsJournalSH

I used Spellbinders Classic Heart Nestabilities to cut more red cardstock and added the girls names, ages and date with metallic gold gel pen.  Paper flowers cut with Spellbinders Flower Creations die set frame the journaling Label and heart.  The flowers are cut out of layers of Craft-a-Board and I'll be showing you the step-by-step process some day soon over at Ellen Hutson's CLASSroom, since that's a wonderful product she carries.  I'll be certain to let you know when that tutorial is prepared.

I'll have a few more Spellbinders projects to share with you over the next week, before my die reveal on Monday, January 12th!

Winter Joy

WinterJoyLO1008SH

This is another scrap page in my series of seasonal ones I plan on framing and grouping together in a wall arrangement.  You can see the first Autumn one here.  The photo is of my youngest, then 4-year old, daughter and is a very special one -- it's the first time she had experienced playing in snow!  Yes, we must have had a few very dry, not cold enough, winters here in Texas before then!

This simple page came together quickly with custom die cuts.  I used one of my favorite Spellbinders dies, Snowflake Wonder, to cut WorldWin vellum and paper to layer together.  I colored the embossed vellum with clear Copic Spica glitter pen.

After cutting and embossing the vellum with the die, while the vellum was still in the die, I used the die as a template to dry emboss it even more using a stylus.  The photo below shows the vellum still in the die that I dry embossed.  The vellum snowflake outside of the die shows only the top three "spokes" of the snowflake with the additional dry embossing.  The other three lower spokes have just been embossed normally (with Spellbinders tan embossing mat and running it through the Wizard die cutting machine), so you can see the difference.

WinterJoyLOTagSHThe Joy tag was cut with Spellbinders Tags 5die from BasicGrey's Blitzen collection patterned paper.  I also cut the same tag from Craft-a-Board and adhered the paper to it, so it would be sturdy.

I used SpellbindersJulius Alphabet to cut the letters j-o-y from Prism Suede Brown Medium Prismatics cardstock.  While still in the die, I colored the embossed areas of the letters with clear Copic Spica glitter pen.  The edges of the tag were inked with ColorBox Chestnut Roan fluid chalk ink and blue fibers tied through the hole in the top.

The "Winter" title was also die-cut using the upper case Julius alphabet.

A frame was torn from some more coordinating paper from the Blitzen collection to mat the photo.

I look forward to sharing more scrap pages for this collection with you soon and check back tomorrow (Wed) for the giveaway I promised, along with another Taylored Expressions project!

Autumn Harvest Time

AutumnAlyssaSH

Ahhhh, Autumn . . . my favorite time of year!  The weather cools down (in Texas, that's below 90 degrees, LOL!) and I love a trip to the pumpkin patch to see all the beautiful colors of flowers, pumpkins and gourds.  This is just about my favorite Autumn photo yet and was taken of my youngest daughter shortly after she started walking five years ago.  We visited the local farmer's market where they had a beautiful display of pumpkins and gourds in this wheelbarrow -- just the perfect height for a curious toddler!

This is an 8" x 8" page that I plan on framing, along with three others -- one for each season . . . so be on the look out for upcoming ones!  I started out with some orange diamond paper by Scrappin' Sports and added a distressed piece of patterned paper by We R Memory Keepers (retired, made exclusively for Recollections) -- a favorite I had in my stash.

The photo is framed with Prism Papaya Puree Dark cardstock and accented with some ribbon pieces that were faux stitched on.  The 'Autumn' lettering was cut from some more Scrappin' Sports green plaid paper with Spellbinders' Excalibur Alphabet.  The letters were adhered to the page and then shadowed/outlined with E27 Copic marker.

I created the pumpkin by cutting more Prism Papaya cardstock with Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Ovals (large set), crumpling the cardstock and then inking/distressing it with Clearsnap's ColorBox Chestnut Roan fluid chalk ink.

AutumnAlyssaPumpkinSH

Three ovals were layered together with dimensional foam tape and topped with one of the doodle dies from Spellbinders Doodle Parts set!  I added 'Harvest Time' to the pumpkin by using JustRite's Small Letter Set and smaller C-30 Monogram Stamper.  The curve of that size circle stamper fit very well on these oval shapes.  I just discovered when linking to the JustRite site that the C-30 model stamper is on sale right now for $18.95, that's $3 off the regular price!

A leaf brad and ribbon/rick-rack from Creative Impressions finish off this page.  I'll be back tomorrow with a project that was a first for me!

The Butterfly . . .

ButterflyAlixScrapSH

I thought I'd share a scrapbook page I made for the Spellbinders art gallery a few months back.  I had fun piercing a trail for the butterfly that's printed on this beautiful Webster's Pages Feather Your Nest printed paper.  Then I used the trail to place my die cut title lettering (Spellbinders' Romance Alphabet cut from Prism Razzleberry Medium cardstock).

ButterflyAlixFlowerEmbSHThe butterfly on the photo is from the Flying Beauties die set.  I used Copic RV34, E13 & E15 markers to color the embossed areas of the butterfly to match the butterflies printed on the paper -- it really does match in person!  Another tiny butterfly from the set accents the center of the Prima flowers.

Making Memories rick-rack trim was ivory and I colored it Copic RV34 marker.  I really like the hand-dyed rustic look this gave, which I think matches the feel of this vintage paper.  The lace underneath the rick-rack is also from Making Memories.

ButterflyAlixButterflyQuoteSHI printed the rest of the title, "counts not months but moments, and has time enough" onto some coordinating Webster's cardstock and cut it into strips.  The strips were distressed a bit and are accented with chocolate brads and adhered with dimensional foam tape to the lower right corner of the photograph of my oldest daughter.

ButterflyAlixJournalSH The journaling was also printed onto Webster's cardstock and die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Petite Classic Ovals.  It's accented with dark pink A Muse Creative Candy Twinkle Stickers.

Tomorrow is another release of Anna Wight stamp sets by Whipper Snapper and I'll have a sample for you!
