I adore dies ... they make any papercrafting project a quick and easy process! I hope you'll join me today over in Ellen Hutson's the CLASSroom for my first project of 2016 -- this sweet Valentine made entirely from die cuts, using some great tips!
A new year always reminds us of closing old and opening new chapters in our lives. I had gotten away from making my monthly calendars this past year (which had been my tradition since 2007!), but with Taylored Expressions’ introduction of these sweet new Calendar Critters last month, I thought it was time for some more calendars! Here’s January:
You can find all the details about this calendar over on the Taylored Expressions blog today . . . I hope you'll join me there!
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!
With the holidays almost over and Valentine’s Day / Spring weddings on the horizon, it’s time to start thinking ahead! So today I have a sweet love-themed card to share with you.
This is Pink Ink’s generously-sized beautiful Curlicue Heart stamp. It measures approximately 2.75” wide x 2.50” tall. I gold heat embossed it onto a white Inchie Arts 3-inch Art Square and watercolored the image with Peerless Watercolors. This sweet detailed image was so much fun to color!
To give the image a homespun quilted look, I used Taylored Expressions Stitched Square die to emboss stitch lines into the Art Square, then layered it onto a pinked-edge square dark pink die cut. I love that the Art Square stands up to heat embossing, watercolor, AND dry embossing, all on one project! The image was then layered onto a white card base embossed with Taylored Expressions Swiss Hearts embossing folder. Gold thread was wrapped up and placed behind the image, to resemble a bird’s nest. :)
Wishing you all much love in 2016!
As the year winds down this week, I will have a few last projects of the year to share with you this week. While I'm still working on those, there's an announcement over on the Taylored Expressions blog today that I'm excited about:
I'll be returning to the Taylored Expressions Blog Design Team in 2016! You can find the full announcement here, which includes two new additions to the team! I have SO enjoyed the last eight months on the team and am looking forward to 2016!
And just in case you may be cleaning out and reorganizing your crafting space over the holidays (like me!), this sale just may help!
These are the awesome ink pad/reinker/marker holders and Marker Nook I use in my studio, so I can personally attest to how well all of these holders are constructed out of wood, the quality and sturdiness. The sale runs until Monday, January 4 at midnight and includes 10% off all Stamp-n-Storage products (excluding the Roll-Top Desk).
If you don't know where to begin with reorganizing your space, you may be interested in their Starter Kits.
If you happen to already have their fantastic paper holders, you may be interested in a new product called Paper Holder Dividers -- they separate your paper and also work great for organizing your various sizes of stencils! Get started HERE or by clicking the graphic above.
I'll be back soon with some projects to share!

Thinking about it being time for Christmas decorations to go up is what inspired today's card:
(All bold products are linked below in the supply section)
These pretty Taylored Expressions Ornament Overlays were "hung" on the card with an awesome new Deco Tape from X-Press It (and your Copic distributor, Imagination International). The tapes come in either Paper or Glitter ... In honor of the holidays, I used Glitter, of course! :)
The tapes are 6mm (or 1/4") inch wide. For the ornament hangers, I cut the silver tape in half. For the left side border of the card, I used a double row of the silver tape. Here are the 10 pretty colors you get in one package:
Here's a little more about this awesome Glitter Deco Tape:
Fun, right?!! Think washi tape, in gorgeous glittery colors! The "glitter" does NOT come off, and the tape is surprisingly very soft and pliable, and easy to reposition (without tearing or lifting up the paper to which it was applied), if needed!
For the delicate and intricate ornament overlays, I used X-Press It's Fine Glue Pen to adhere them to solid cardstock circles -- check out that VERY fine glue pen tip!
This is my favorite go-to glue pen for small die cuts -- the glue can either be used as a temporary bond (let it dry a little while before applying a glued piece to another piece of paper) or permanent (apply immediately). And the glue dries clear!
The card was finished with silver foil die cut hangers and the smallest and large ornaments were popped up on X-Press It 1/2" High Tack Foam Tape. The beautiful Taylored Expressions In & Out Christmas sentiment was silver heat embossed with a silver metallic sparkle embossing powder, to match the silver Glitter Deco Tape!
Here's another idea I had that uses the Glitter Deco Tape. I started to use it on the card above, but changed my mind and only used the silver tape. I applied the silver and gold tapes diagonally on a 1-inch strip of cardstock:
After the tape was applied, I trimmed the excess from the sides. Now I have a great accent strip to use on another project!
Thanks so much for joining me today ... I'm off to start my holiday decorating!
I adore white pumpkins – they are something different and unexpected! I also love the fabulous texture Taylored Expressions’ embossing folders bring to papercrafting, so today’s project combines a few of my favorite things into this grateful pumpkin shaped card:
You can find all the details on how to create this layered pumpkin over on the Taylored Expressions blog today ... I look forward to seeing you there!
Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away ... are you ready? Maybe this little guy will help:
