I'm totally lovin' this layout and different fold of a card (see particulars two posts below). This time, the flowers (Stampin' Up's Petal Prints) were inspired by my friend, Cindy Lyles', gorgeous note cards. I colored the rubber stamp directly with dye-based markers (amethyst, lilac & olive), spritzed with water, then stamped onto watercolor paper two or three times without reinking. This leaves one impression darker than the other(s) and makes the images look like a true watercolor painting. Here's a closeup:
The focal image was sponged around the edges with amethyst dye/classic ink and matted with lilac & olive cardstock, then mounted with dimensionals to the 4.25" square card base stamped with leaves from this set in amethyst ink.
Sentiments were added to the focal images using PaperTrey Ink's first stamp set, Paper Tray. I love the versatility of the separate, clear acrylic word stamps that you can arrange however you'd like!
Finally, a torn strip of cardstock is added toward the bottom of the card, with a double row of faux stitching.
All supplies by Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
these are beautiful cards.

Love these pretty cards. How do you get the sponged edges to look so smooth? Mine always come out looking blotchy. Any tips? Thanks!

Love the cards and the different fold. But...what size envelope would you use for these cards. I know it may seem like a brainless questions, but I had to ask.
Thanks -
