I know it's a bit early to be thinking about Christmas but with school starting, before you know it Halloween will be here and then the holiday season will be upon us. So if that's not justification enough . . . I just got a new box of stamps yesterday and couldn't wait to share these with you! :) Plus, I LOVE the holidays!
When I saw this week's CPS77, I knew these adorable new Lockhart stockings would be a perfect fit for the sketch (I turned it on its side). I stamped them onto Neenah Classic Natural White cardstock with Tsukineko's Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Copic markers in colors to match the BasicGrey Figgy paper, and cut them out. I used silver metallic gel pen for the seam bindings between each "patch" in the stockings and then aged the images a bit by lightly sponging them with Ranger's Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Here are some closeups, so you can see those tiny images on the stockings better and pick out your favorite(s):
As shown in order on the card above - Left: Candy Cane Stocking . . . Middle: Christmas Tree Stocking . . .
And this one is Candle Stocking (on the far right in the top photo).
All of the stockings are popped up on dimensional foam tape and placed on a coordinating piece of green BasicGrey paper cut with Spellbinders Long Scalloped Rectangle Mega Nestabilities die. This layer is also popped up.
"The stockings were hung" sentiment is also new from Lockhart -- I inked parts of it separately and stamped it between the stockings.
A piece of red hemp is held in place with silver brads and the stocking hangers are glued to it. Card base is Prism Blush Red Dark.
This card measures 5" x 7" but I think I'll find a frame for it, to display this holiday season! Wouldn't these stockings be adorable on a scrapbook page?
Supplies: Lockhart stamps, Memento ink, Copic markers, Spellbinders dies & Ink Blending tool all available from Ellen Hutson LLC. Prism cardstock & Distress ink available from Cornish Heritage Farms.
I love it!! Never too early for Christmas, right? :)

Hi Sharon,
your new (since I last visited) blog banner is adorable. LOVE the calendar in your sidebar with my pearblossom paper.
You've got lot's a scrumptions eye candy here, and fewer calories than the chocolate shake I treated myself to earlier.
