I'm very excited to be a Whipper Snapper Featured Designer for the next two months, especially since I'll be using a sweet friend's and (albeit transplanted!) fellow Texan's wonderful illustrations. Anna Wight's whimsical fall drawings have been transformed into rubber for you to enjoy in two new cling-mount rubber stamp sets, Harvest Blessings & Give Thanks.
A third set is also being released this month . . . Crazy for Chickens. If you know Anna and follow her blog at all, you know she IS crazy for chickens and shares some of her own farm chicken tales with you on her blog, SweetMissDaisy/Sassy & Sweet Notes. You can view the contents of all three sets over at Anna's blog today and you can visit Whipper Snapper to pick them up. Anna signs the first 100 stamp sets of each release, so you'll want to be among the first to purchase them!
I adored the sweet scarecrow girl in the Harvest Blessings set, so that's what I chose to work with first. If you know Anna, she's infamous for her fabulous watercoloring and her images are perfectly designed for it. So I dusted off my reinkers & watercolor brush, watercolor paper and StazOn ink and went to work . . .
After stamping the scarecrow, I masked her off to stamp the sunflowers and then hand drew in the stems and added some more horizon line doodlings. I adore this sentiment, too . . . "Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower".
It felt so good to watercolor again and after doing so, I wanted to showcase this sweet painting more permanently than just on a card, so she became a framed fall keepsake (photo area is 3.5" x 5.5" and the frame is 9" x 7" overall):
Supplies:
- Stamps: Whipper Snapper Harvest Blessings cling-mount set, illustrated by Anna Wight
- Ink: Black StazOn ink, Ranger Adirondack dye reinkers
- Paper: Stampin' Up Watercolor paper, Flair Designs patterned paper
- Accessories: Water reservoir brush, The Paper Studio buttons, Stampin' Up Linen Thread & Mustard grosgrain ribbon, Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio die template, Michael's frame
I hope you'll visit the other Featured Designers over the next few months, to see what they've created for this release, too:

I'm sorry my 500K hits giveaway has been delayed just a bit . . . I wanted to create something with the prize I'll be giving away, so I'll be back a little later this week with that announcement!
Wow, Sharon, this ROCKS! Super watercoloring, great masking, and I love the DP!
