It's time for another release of Stamp a Sweet Impression stamps from Taylored Expressions. You can find out more details and see the full stamp sets over at Taylor's blog or the Taylored Expressions store . . . these stamps and Christmas Key Ingredients kit are now available for purchase!
Tonight the design team members are featuring samples made with one of the sets, Tag Treats. This word set is all you'll need for the holidays . . . it's packed with 10 very versatile sayings, poems, sentiments and things you can use for holiday cards, gift exchanges, kid's parties, teacher gifts, cookie exchanges, recipes and tags! So here's what I have to show you . . . a Snowman Soup gift:
The tag on the left with the "Snowman Soup - stir & sip" sentiment is from the Tag Treats set. I loved the fonts Taylor chose to use in this set! The cute snowman cuppie is from the same stamp set I used this morning -- Home Sweet Home. Again, the red cardstock, patterned papers and ribbon I used are from the new Christmas Key Ingredients kit.
This is a "green project" and reuses a frappuccino carton and four glass bottles. The carton was covered in patterned papers, as were the lids:
Thank goodness I can always find the perfect size of Spellbinders die to fit any project -- that's what I used to fit the bottle lids with snowflake paper. And that beautiful snowflake was made from Spellbinders' Snowflake Wonder die, sponged with Memento Summer Sky ink and glittered with Star Dust Stickles. A Zva clear crystal gemstone (also available from Taylored Expressions) adorns the middle.
Here's what my Snowman Soup poem says:
"When it's so cold that you holler and whoop,
It's time to bring out the Snowman Soup!
Pour some cocoa in a mug; add the snowballs too.
And throw in the kisses from the snowman to you.
Now fill with hot water and use the cane to stir it.
Sip slowly and soon you'll feel the warm winter spirit!"
So that's how I got the contents of my gift package . . . one bottle contains cocoa mix, another Hershey's Hugs Kisses, peppermint sticks, and snowballs (mini marshmallows)!
The sentiment was printed onto cardstock and then cut and framed with Spellbinders Petite Classic & Scalloped Oval dies. The edges were sponged with Memento Desert Sand ink.
The snowball bottle's "Let it Snow" sentiment is from the Home Sweet Home stamp set. It was also cut and framed with Spellbinders Petite Classic & Scalloped Oval dies and has a band of patterned paper attaching it to the bottle.
Cutie Snowman cuppie and sentiment were stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto this great tag from Taylored Expressions and colored with Copic markers. The tags are available in sets of 10 in your choice of neutral colors here, for only $1! Snowflakes were stamped with Memento Summer Sky ink. All the Memento Dew Drop ink pads are available at Taylored Expressions. Snowman's snow face is glittered with Star Dust Stickles and his tag is tied up with some more of that glitterly "shoestring" ribbon I love -- it comes in the Christmas Key Ingredient kit.
I hope you'll check out Taylor's blog for links to all the other design team members' blogs, so you can see what they've created for you!
I'll be back tomorrow (or later this morning!) with Beate's sketch and to announce the winner of my Copic giveaway.
Just darling - and everything I need to recreate is already on it's way! I knew you'd push me off the ledge, so I ordered first, then came to peek! LOL! Love it, Sharon!

This is so cute, I'd love to try it.
I have 2 questions.
1) How do you adhere the paper to the carton. What adhesive do you use and how do you get the edges to look so nice?
2) How do you get the labels off the bottles?
Now I not only get to have a frap but I get to make a cute gift!
Thanks Sharon!

How do you cover the box? I can't figure it out.
Posted by: Jennifer | September 09, 2011 at 03:47 PM
Hi, Jennifer! I just cut patterned paper to fit each side of the the box and then glued it onto the box. To do this, I usually just place the box on its side on top of the paper (reverse side) and just lightly trace it with a pencil and cut it out -- very easy!

I have used these to tint the glass to make flower vases. However, I had a hard time getting the labels off. And once I did I couldn't get rid of the sticky residue. How did you remove them if I may ask...?
