Whoa, that title is a tongue twister! I've had this project in mind for a few months now and figured I better get it done before Halloween arrives! Since there are six treat tins and I have two very sweet (most of the time!) girls, I thought they could each have a treat-filled tin each week for the remaining three weeks before Halloween.
The clear top round tins are a pretty good purchase from Michael's wedding section . . . they come in a tub of 30 for about $19 (just .63 cents each), if I remember correctly. But wait for a 40-50% off coupon and that puts them in the .31 to .38 cent each range . . . great for a school classroom treat! They are 2-inches in diameter and 1-inch deep.
You could certainly dress the tins up some more, but I thought these sweet goblins and some bright ribbon were cute enough. Afterall, the kids are really just interested in the contents, aren't they?!! But my girls throught these adorable cupcakes were the cutest they've ever seen!
I started by stamping 6 of the 8 Taylored Expressions Trick-or-Sweeters with Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Classic Solar White cardstock and colored them with Copic markers & Spica glitter pens. Star Dust Stickles covers the ghost. Then I cut them out and used glue dots to adhere them to the clear tin tops.
For hangers, I punched a hole in the side of the tin with my Crop-O-Dile and tied ribbon thru the hole, knotting it on the inside of the tin. Each tin is filled with my girls' favorite flavors of jelly beans and of course, the ever-popular candy corn!
This cute pumpkin tree is also from Michael's and stands about 16-inches tall. Here's a close-up of the goblins and topper:
The sign was made with a sentiment that is included in the Trick or Sweet set. I cut it out with Classic Oval & Classic Scalloped Oval Nestabilities. The purple Prism cardstock is one of the colors included in Taylored Expressions' Halloween Key Ingredients Kit. I love that Taylor has put together these kits filled with coordinating paper, cardstock, ribbon, brads & glitter -- saving you all the time and effort of having to do this! And they coordinate so well with each of her Stamp a Sweet Impression stamp sets.
The orange adhesive gems are by EK Success. Here's witchy-poo . . . it looks like she's eaten too many of those licorice jelly beans in her tin!
Ms. Mummy & Mr. Ghost in the middle of the tree:
Choc-o-Pumpkin, Frank N. Cake and Vampy Pire finish out this trick-or-sweet tree:
I'll be back Friday with Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge!
