On our 2nd day of the 12 Inchies of Christmas, how about dressing a small Christmas tree with Inchies? Here, I've made a tree ornament and gift to go underneath my tree.
I forgot to photograph the step-by-step process I used to create the ornament shown above (because I wasn't sure it would work yet!), but here's how it's done. The ornament was made my adhering two Inchie Arts White Inchie Squares together, back-to-back:
Then I put some glue around the edges of the doubled Inchie Squares and adhered a long piece of ribbon around the perimeter. I tied a knot at the top of the squares and then glued the loose ends together at the very top (or in this case, the bottom right of the photo), forming a loop to hang the ornament:
I had plenty of ribbon left over when I made the tree ornament above, so I tied a knot in the top of its loop. Here's a closeup:
I stamped the Lockhart Itty Bitty Christmas Tree (#3046) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the Inchie Arts White Inchie Square and colored it with Copic markers and touches of pink Copic Spica Glitter Pen.
The gift was created by covering a 1-inch wood block with designer paper and then adhering an Inchie Arts White Inchie Square to one side of it:
I'm loving using these little wood blocks in my projects lately. I found them at Michael's and think they give a whole new dimension to Inchies!
For this one, I stamped Karen Lockhart's Itty Bitty Three Packages (#3043) on the Inchie Arts White Inchie Square with Memento's Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers. Then I tied wide green grosgrain ribbon around the block so it would resemble a gift.
I hope these ideas will spur some creative thoughts on using Inchies in some interesting new ways! I'll be adding some more ornaments and gifts to my tree, and I have some other holiday ideas for your Inchies, so I hope you'll check back in to see them!
These are so adorable! thanks for sharing..

Ok, I got my husband to cut some wood for me so I can proceed to attempt to emulate your inchies ornament. This will be a first for me to make a 'stamping' ornament and I've already got visions of filling up my wooden tree with 'your' inchies ornament. Thanks for sharing. I'm really excited to get started.

Hi Sharon, what a terrific idea. I love the inchie format and this is a great way to use those small stamps and have something to show for it. Thanks so much for the inspiration. Hope you have a great holiday.
