This is a total "scrappy" card -- absolutely no stamping involved! I thought these beautiful Webster's Pages papers said enough all on their own and didn't need any stamps. I used CPS#100 for the layout. The blue patterned base layer is from the Inspired collection (Peacefulness) and the chocolate "Beautiful" layer is from the original Journaling Cards collection. The tiny calendar and "Life" sentiment in the upper left corner is from the original Mini Calendars collection -- I just die cut it with a Spellbinders tag die.
Now for the yummy sparkle I added:
On the tag, I used a new product that was released at Winter CHA . . . SAND (#E33) Copic Atyou Spica Glitter Pen was used to outline "Life" and add sparkle to the brown butterfly!! And on the tiny flower centers is new BABY BLUE (B21)! Yes, you heard me correctly -- Copic released ELEVEN new glitter pen colors, that will be available around April 2009!
Here they are:
I tried to get as good of a photo of the color names on the left in the photo above and then tilted the paper a little in the photo on the right, to try and capture more of the glittery sparkle. Enlarging the photo by clicking on it may give you some better sparkly detail. If you can't read them very well, the new colors are: Pitch Black, Garnet (R39), Lipstick (R29), Blossom (RV22), Chocolate (E58), Sand (E33), Peach (E01), Buttermilk (Y21), Lilac (BV00), Baby Blue (B21) and Mint (G82). What do you think? I love these softer, lighter colors AND chocolate!
I used more Baby Blue Spica glitter pen on the large center butterfly (which was cut from the Webster's Peacefulness patterned paper), lower butterfly and tiny flower centers (those flowers are punched with Martha Stewart's Hydrangea punch). More Sand Spica glitter pen was used to color in the "You" word printed on the paper:
The pretty ball trim was machine stitched onto the card. I loved all the dimension the different elements gave this card:
I hope butterflies are fluttering in your world today . . . it's a pretty nice, sunny one today here in Texas!
