This week, Cami is hosting the Weekend Sketch Challenge -- you can find the sketch and her sample on her blog, linked above. I also combined this challenge with the monthly SplitcoastStampers.com Dirty Dozen Design Team/Alumni challenge -- to remake one of your oldest cards, changing at least three elements! I just so happened to have used this same layout on a card that I posted within my first two months as a Splitcoast member (October 2004) ... here it is (please be gentle!):
The full details about the above card can be found at my Splitcoast upload HERE. And here's my remake of the card today (and sample for Cami's sketch):
This card makes me smile, on the first day of Spring! I changed the stamps, ribbon ties at the tops of the squares, and the colors/cardstock to patterned vellum. I thought it was funny I was working with Inchies, even over four years ago! My Inchies today, are mounted on the lovely museum-quality matboard White Inchie Squares by Inchie Arts. Karen Lockhart's fruit images were a perfect fit with these gorgeous new Webster's Pages Designer Vellum cards. I used Lockhart's Strawberries #2067, Apples in Chintz Bowl #2054, and Cherries in Colander #2077 and the "thanks a bunch" #10032 sentiment fit perfectly inside the cloud/bubble already printed on the vellum!
The vellum cards measure 5.50" x 4.75" -- I sliced this one in the middle (under the ribbon), made it a little shorter, and mounted it to a Neenah Natural White base measuring 5.50" x 5". The edges were inked with Ranger Vintage Photo Distress ink.
The Lockhart fruit images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Solar White cadstock and colored with these Copic markers:
Normally I would stamp and color directly onto the Inchie Square, but I wanted to leave a few pieces of fruit and leaves cut "out of the box" and hanging off the edges, so I trimmed the images by hand and mounted them to the Inchie Squares:
I'll be back with another post/tutorial in a little while, detailing my Copic coloring of the fruits/Inchies. Edited: The tutorial is now located HERE.
All supplies, except Offray ribbon, available from Ellen Hutson LLC.
Please remember to check out the other sketch samples made by Beate, Charmaine, Jenn, Laurie, Lori and Mary Jo. And if you'd like to see the other SplitcoastStampers Designers/Alumni remakes of their cards, you can find that gallery HERE -- enjoy and gave a happy weekend!

Wow, your card turned out beautifully. It's is wonderful how we evolved as artists. Learning new techniques, playing with new product. I just love those stamped images of the fruit. I can't wait until I see your tutorial.

This card is so fresh and really puts a spring into your step. Your colouring is always fantastic and makes things look so realistic no matter how small the image is. Great job. Have a lovely weekend.

This was a fun DDA challenge, and I wish I'd had time to play. I still have the stamps I used on my first upload -- Perfect Form -- sheesh! They were my first SU! stamps. My, how things have changed. Your card today is awesome! Love those fruit bowls and the country kitchen look. You've always been good, Sharon...just changing with the times!
