How did it get to be Friday again already?!! This week has flown by for me -- how about you? It's time for another Weekend Sketch Challenge ... this week's is hosted by Lori. You can find the sketch and her sample over at her blog this morning. Here's my sample:
I knew I wanted to use this new Lockhart Sweet Peas image today, and when rummaging through papers, I thought this print from Memory Box's Poppyfinch collection would work nicely. The alpha letters on the right side made me think of a teacher, so now I have our first grade teacher's birthday card all ready to go!
I stamped the Sweet Peas with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto Neenah Natural White cardstock and colored with these Copic markers & Olive Spica glitter pen:
Fruit Punch Stickles were used to highlight the flowers and the glitter pen was used on the flower stems, above the vase. The sentiment is from CHF/Mona Lisa Moments' Essential Expressions Classic. I matted the image with Memory Box Sugar Plum cardstock and machine stitched around the edges. Satin ribbon is Papertrey Ink's Aqua Mist and is tied with a Foof-a-La button.
The edges of the background paper were distressed and messy stitched to the cream card base. A Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch accents the upper right corner.
This pretty bouquet of flowers is Ellen Hutson's stamp-of-the-month. You can find it, along with most of the supplies for this card (Memory Box & Neenah cardstock, Memory Box paper, Lockhart & Mona Lisa Moments stamps, Copic markers & Spica glitter pens, Stickles, Tonic edge distresser & Martha Stewart butterfly punch) at Ellen Hutson LLC.
I hope you'll check out the other sketch samples provided today by Cambria, Charmaine, Jenn, Laurie, and Mary Jo -- I'm sure they will provide a bunch of inspiration for your weekend crafting!
On a side note -- I've added a "For Sale" page to my blog. You can find the link to it up under my photo. As I do some cleaning out and rearranging, I hope to update this page frequently. First item(s) up is some paper racks!
This is VERY pretty! Great job!

Sharon, so springy (and that is so needed on this dreary day. It's so grey and thunder-y here!), so feminine! Love it!

Your colors are stunning. Since the end of the school year is almost here, why not create another beautiful card for a thank you to your child's teacher.
