Look what arrived at my doorstep yesterday ... those brand new light Copic colors! I'm trying to find out when they will be available to the public, then I'll update this post. (EDITED: I've been told retailers will probably begin receiving shipments around July 15th or so.)
In the meantime, if you'd like to download a new color chart to have ready for the arrival of YOUR new colors, I've updated all of my downloadable charts (Excel, Word & PDF) on my COPIC PAGE. They also include a new column for all the 23 colors + clear of Spica Glitter Pens. Enjoy!
I did a little comparison for you of the these new lighter colors. I'm pleased to report that the new BG0000 is just a shade lighter than my custom lighter BG000 I made by combining 2 parts Clear Blender Solution to 1 part BG000 Various refill ink:
Here's a comparison of the new YR0000 and Y0000:
And the new BV0000 and G0000:
I know I'll enjoy these lighter colors ... they are perfect for helping to blend shading. I always prefer a lighter shade of the colors I'm working with to blend, as opposed to the Colorless Blender. The lighter shades will leave behind a slight highlight of that color as opposed to possibly taking away too much color, like the Blender can sometimes (at least for me!).
Like I said, I'll update this post as to when these new colors will be arriving at retailers, or you can always keep an eye on Marianne's blog -- I'm sure she'll keep everyone updated!
EDITED: Several of you asked about my Copic storage units. I have full details on THIS post. Thanks!
Light is ALWAYS good! Thanks for sharing...looking forward to getting my own!!!

Oh my.... now I'm going to need yet ANOTHER storage unit to house more copics! Boy-oh-boy... I can't wait. I'm with you - would rather blend with a lighter shade than with the colorless.

As soon as I saw these lighter colors I *knew* I would have to get them! I've been using my Prismas more lately because there's more ability to shade--until now! I can't wait until they're available to the public. :)

I love these colors. BUT I live in a very rural area that has one stamp store, and no copic markers...where is the best place to get them at a price a impoverished artist can get them? Ideas?
