It's just a few more days until JustRite Stampers' SIX holiday stamp sets will be released on August 17th... these are going to blow your socks off, I tell ya! Each day this week, JustRite is unveiling and previewing a different stamp set in its entirety on their blog AND giving you the chance to enter to win that set! So be sure to keep an eye on the JustRite blog daily!
Today's stamp set being revealed is the only new oval holiday set -- Christmas Joy. It fits on JustRite's Small (1-3/4" x 2-5/16") Oval Wood Stamper. I love that there are three images of each orientation in this set -- aren't they all gorgeous?!
I used the "Magical Christmas" center as an accent on a 6-inch scrapbook page that could easily be used in the same size, or scaled down a bit, for a holiday greeting card:
I printed this photo of my youngest daughter (who fell asleep sitting up on the sofa at the end of a very long Christmas Day!) in 3.5"x5" size and then cut a 1/2-inch frame (overall, measuring 4.75"x5") to fit over the top. The photo was then mounted on foam dimensional tape.
These stamps were sized to specifically coordinate with the size and shape of Spellbinders Classic Oval Nestabilities dies. Here's the oval border from this stamp set, so you can see how well the die fits.
EDITED: This die is the middle one from the Large set of Classic Oval Nesties. If you look closely in the photo below, you can see there is a scalloped outer border on this stamp, that's hiding underneath the die to the left. But with the cutting blade of this die being in the middle of the die's rim, it cuts out this image perfectly.
For my project, I inked the center with black & red inks (highlighting the word "Magical") and stamped. After die cutting the image (using the second smallest die in the Large Classic Oval Nestability set), I colored it with Copic markers BG93, G85 and Copic Spica Glitter Pen in the new Lipstick color.
The image was then sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink and two layers of ultra thick embossing enamel (UTEE) heat embossed on it. This really gave the image a vintage epoxy sticker look that I loved! Hopefully, you'll be able to see that nice shine in the close-up photo below (click on it for a larger view):
The center was popped up on foam dimensional tape and adhered to the border that was die cut with Spellbinders' coordinating Scalloped Classic Oval Nestabilities dies (middle die from the large set). The rhinestones were clear and I colored them with Copic G85 marker, to match the Basic Grey Wassail paper.
Be sure to hop on over to the JustRite blog to enter for your chance to win this stamp set and then don't forget to mark your calendar for Monday, August 17at 8am EST when JustRite's Holiday Blog Hop will begin. You'll get to see 35 blogs that will provide you with some wonderful samples for these beautiful new holiday stamp sets! I'll certainly be participating in the hop, so I hope you'll check back to see what I have for you!
