Welcome to Our Craft Lounge's Holiday 2009 release & blog hop -- 31 new stamp sets are debuting today! You can find a list of retailers HERE that carry OCL stamps, or my favorite online retailer is eclectic Paperie.
To celebrate, OCL is giving away one of each set! You can find a list of all the designer's blogs that are giving away the stamp sets at the OCL blog. Each designer also has wonderful samples made with these sets. The set OCL provided for me to give away today is Ghostly Greetings -- it's a clear acrylic stamp set, illustrated by Marianne Walker:
Aren't these ghosts adorable?!! I love that they look like Casper the Friendly Ghost! Here's a gift set I made with these stamps:
The sweet girl ghost was stamped on vellum cardstock and then colored on the reverse side of the vellum with Copic markers YR09 & T3, to ensure the stamped ink wouldn't smear. Sometimes ink will not fully dry on vellum and smear, but your Copics will color and dry beautifully on vellum!
On the front of the vellum, I used Clear Copic Spica Glitter pen to color in the the ghost (hopefully you can see the sparkle in this close up -- click on the photo for a larger view):
I trimmed the vellum a little smaller than this tag from My Mind's Eye and attached the vellum to the tag with a glue dot hidden beneath the button.
I used this week's CPS #127 sketch for the layout of this card. Some May Arts wide black lace (from one of Jody's ribbon shares) was used behind the tag, to resemble webbing. A double row of holes was pierced on the end of the scalloped tag.
I also made a gift tag to attach to a frappuccino bottle filled with candy. This time, I used the sweet little pumpkin and the "You've Been Boo'd" sentiment:
Google eyes were a must with this sentiment, I thought! It was colored with Copic markers Y02, YR12 & YR09. More wide black lace trim was tied around the frappuccino bottle and then the tag tied to the lace.
