The Taylored Expressions Baker's Dozen Design Team is getting punch today, with the last sneak peek of Punchy Potions! All the stamp sets and Key Ingredient Kits we've been previewing for you the last two days are now available for purchase from Taylored Expressions!
The Punchy Potions Bundle will include the stamp set, potion bottles, sticker paper, AND the coordinating Spellbinders die set! This stamp set is sized to fit the Classic Oval Nestabilities Large die set.
I decided to package some of my Orange Spiced Tea Mix for teacher gifts this Fall ... I thought it would make perfect "Witches Brew"!
I started by stamping the Witches Brew oval stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto some of the sticker paper you'll receive in the Punchy Potions Bundle. Next, I created masks by stamping the oval Witches Brew image onto Eclipse Tape and cutting the center out, then placed the center mask over the image I stamped onto the sticker paper.
Then I airbrused each of the three Copic colors (V15, YG03 & YR04) around the border. Next, I masked the outer border that I previously airbrushed and airbrused orange in the center (the cauldron was previously colored with Copic T3 & T5). I tried not to get too much color in the center of the image and just removed any overspray with my Copic Colorless Blender marker. Alternately, you could also mask the cauldron image but I was just too lazy to stamp it and cut all out! After I finished coloring the image, I die cut it with the Classic Oval Nestabilities Large die set you'll receive in the Punch Potions Bundle.
Next, I stamped that cool 5.50" border from the Spooky Expressions stamp set I used yesterday on my calendar page onto the sticker paper -- it matches the border on the Witches Brew oval perfectly! Then I also airbrused the borders:
Now the sticker labels match perfectly! I used the long border to wrap around the necks of the Potion Bottles.
To finish off the Witches Brew labels, I used Scalloped Oval Nestabilities to die cut more of the sticker paper, and then just colored the outer edges with Black Copic marker. Then I applied the die cut oval label over the black scalloped sticker paper and stuck those to the bottles.
Taylor thought of everything to make a professional looking bottle package -- she even included little 3/4" round images that fit perfectly on top of the corks in the Potion Bottles! I also stamped them onto the sticker paper, punched them out, and colored them with Copics. Then, just peel and stick:
And as you can see, Punchy Potions is not just for potions ... I also used just the center cauldron image (die cut from the border) for my Orange Spiced Tea recipe card:
I used Clear Copic Spica Glitter Pen on the bubbling brew in all the images, but I'm not sure how well that's showing up in the photos. The patterned 4"x6" paper base for my recipe card is more of the Basic Gray paper from the Halloween Key Ingredients Kit and so is that cute moon & stars brad!
EDITED: You can find my copy and paste recipe on this blog post. It takes about 2 teaspoons of the mix to make one mug of tea.
You can see more of samples of this set today, by visiting the other members of the Baker's Dozen design team: Charmaine Ikach, Dawn Easton, Denise Marzec, Donna Baker, Jackie Pedro, Jodi Collins, Karen Giron, Karen Motz, Laura Fredrickson, Laurie Schmidlin, Sankari Wegman and of course, Taylor.
