Hello and welcome to JustRite Stampers' Garden Tour 2 Blog Hop! This week JustRite is releasing its February stamp collection which contains two beautiful new botanical stamp sets designed to fit your Large Oval (2-1/4" x 3-1/16") wood stamper, another wonderful sentiment set called Joyful Hearts and the set I'm using today, Stitched With Love!
You'll be able to see all the sets in their entirety this week over at the JustRite Inspiration Blog and they will all be available for ordering at the JustRite site this Friday, February 5th!
When I first saw this set, I knew I wanted to dress up one of my (many) button jars! So I began by covering the lid of my canning jar with some of my favorite red Webster's Pages Petite Papers. Next, I stamped the border and center with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, die cut the sentiment, and then hand cut the center heart out. I love this border sentiment: "Button, Button ... Oh Sew Many Buttons. Button, Button ... I've Got the Buttons!" (you can click on the photos for a closer view)
This heart has a ruffle stamped around it but I wanted to accent the heart with my own trim, so after I cut out the heart I adhered the turquoise crocheted lace trim to the back of the heart and then popped it up on foam tape. The die cut border sentiment is also popped up on foam tape and the tiny buttons colored with Copic BG72 & R29.
I colored the center heart with Copic E41 & E42, to give it an aged muslin look. Then I adhered real buttons to the stamped ones in the center of the heart. I DID have the one and only perfect turquoise button in my collection picked out that matched the lace trim EXACTLY but wouldn't you know I sent it flying SOMEWHERE in my studio while trying to stick a Glue Dot to it! I'm sure I'll find it somewhere later, stuck to something, LOL! So for a quick fix, I took an ivory button and Copic airbrushed it with the BG72 Copic marker and loved the result!
I hope you'll check out all the samples the JustRite Design Team has prepared for you today, starting at the JustRite Inspiration Blog (I also have a card posted over there today!), then on to Becca Feeken, Kellie Fortin, Sharon Harnist <=You are here!), Debbie Olson, Heidi Blankenship, Kathy Jones, Michele Kovack, Michelle Wooderson, Sharon Johnson, Angela Barkhouse, Barb Schram.Stamps: JustRite Stampers Stitched With Love

Love your little button jar, so sweet and fun. I remember going through my Grandma's button box as a child, it was like being on a mini treasure hunt trying to find the prettest buttons.
