TE Blast From The Past Blog Hop!

Welcome to your next stop on Taylored Expressions' Blast From The Past Blog Hop! I'm always thrilled to pull out my sweet TE stamps and here's my project using one of my favorite stamps from the early days -- For The Love of Cupcakes, combined with Taylored Expressions' Sketch Challenge #113. We have a big celebration AND graduation coming up for a special niece all in one party and I thought this BIG (6-inch!) card could handle both celebrations! The large front-and-center cupcakes were stamped onto Inchie Arts Ivory Inchie + Squares and colored with these Copic markers: Each large cupcake Inchie was edged in a different coordinating color of Copic marker. The smaller cupcakes in the focal image were cut out and popped up on foam tape on top of the cake plate. The background of the focal image was left in the Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circle Nestabilities die and Copic Y21 used to airbrush the background. Kid Time!

Today's JustRite's Friday Challenge is to make something for kids and here's what I came up with: Refrigerator magnet clips for each of my girls' school papers! Mother's Poem

Happy day after Mother's Day to everyone! Sorry this is a little late going up -- I intended to have it up yesterday for Mother's Day but my allergies got the best of me and I didn't feel like doing much of anything this weekend! I found this awesome Wedge Box tutorial over at Cornish Heritage Farms that I wanted to give a try and I thought this wonderful new Lockhart Spring Flower #2124 stamp would make a great tag accent for it. I stamped the image onto Neenah Natural White cardstock and colored it with these Copic markers: I used Spellbinders largest Scalloped Tag die to cut it out, inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress ink and tied it up with some red & beige wrinkled seam binding ribbon. JustRite Friday Challenge 017

Today's JustRite Friday Challenge is to make inexpensive gifts. Perfect timing, since this was Teacher Appreciation Week at our school! Here's the card I made for our fabulously sweet 2nd grade teacher: To accent this pretty Webster's Petite Paper, I used JustRite's new Kaleidoscope center to stamp a focal point in Spun Sugar Distress Ink. Then I overstamped it with the What's Cookin' border: The image was die cut and matted with Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circle Nestabilities dies. A striped border strip of the reverse side of the paper was punched with Martha Stewart's Circle Dot edger punch and placed along the lower edge of the Memory Box Sugar Plum notecard. The focal point was accented with a chocolate KaiserCraft pearl. I can't believe my 10-year old "baby" is graduating from elementary to a new intermediate school in just a few weeks (and VERY proud she's on the A-B Honor Roll!), so I thought I'd make a graduation card for her, to celebrate.
