Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #3! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!
The project I have for you today uses the 20-piece (10 borders & 10 centers) 1-3/16" round Holiday Cheer set:
This is a 10.50" tall die cut felt tree that I found at a dollar store, or Target or Michael's dollar bin sometime last year (I'm sorry I can't remember which -- it wasn't still in the packaging). I made these ornaments for it by stamping 8 of the 10 center images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto white cardstock and coloring them with Copic markers (colors listed below). Here are some close up photos of each side of the dimensional tree (click on any photo for a larger view):
After coloring, the centers were punched with a 1" circle punch and adhered to the borders which were stamped in either Memento Bamboo Leaves or Rhubarb Stalk ink.
The borders/centers were then layered onto a 1.50" red scalloped circle, with thin satin ribbon sandwiched between the layers to serve as hangers for the ornaments. Sparkly Stickles accent each piece.
I figured this ornamental tree could be used as an advent calendar throughout the holidays, allowing children to hang an ornament on it each day! You could even have these all pre-stamped and assembled and have your kids color one each day!
Please visit these designers’ blogs to see what fabulous Christmas projects they have for you on the hop today! (Note: 2 of our designers on the hop today may have some downtime on their blogs due to system upgrades. If you encounter this, please check back with them again later -- thanks)!

Sharon,
I love the idea, not only because it is so cute, but the various ideas you put in about the advent calendar are so fun. I think my daughter would love to color one (and maybe glitter a little too) each day. I'm on the look out for one of those trees...
