Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #4! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps! This week, it’s the Spellbinders design team! So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!
My project for you today is the beginning of a series of 5" x 7" framed holiday home decor. Can you guess what word I'll be spelling out?!!
The black 5" x 7" frame came from the dollar store. The 3.50" tall chipboard letter N is a little over 1/4-inch thick and came from Hobby Lobby (or craftsetc.com):
I covered the letter with Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather paper, sanded the edges with Basic Grey's Precision File Set, and then distressed the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The background I created for my framed art is also from the Mitten Weather Mini Deck.
I made Santa's red felt bag myself -- just cut the shape I wanted from a piece of cardstock, stuck a cotton ball in the center, glued the felt to the edges of my cardstock bag shape, then tied it with black embroidery thread. Zva crystals magically make the toys & candy jump out of Santa's bag and into the stocking! The stocking is from JustRite's Old Fashioned Christmas stamp set. I colored the stocking and Santa with these Copic markers:
Santa comes from JustRite's Vintage Christmas stamp set and I'll post a Copic coloring tutorial for him later this weekend. Santa and the stocking are accented with Star Dust Stickles and popped up on foam tape. More crystals accent the scalloped sides of the background. The "I Believe" sentiment is from JustRite's Christmas Nested Sentiments set.
