Just a few quick notes before today's JustRite release blog post. I wanted to mention something to my FeedBlitz email newsletter subscribers: I don't know what's up with the links in my newsletter emails -- evidently clicking on the name of my most recent post is not taking you to that post on my blog any longer. Until I get that glitch worked out, you ARE able to click on my blog banner within that email, to be taken directly to the main page of my blog, where you can then view my most recent post. My apologies -- I'll try to get this fixed ASAP.
And if you are a new visitor to my site through some Cricut lists, please know that I am (im)patiently awaiting my new Expression machine and will have some Cricut projects to share with you soon -- I can't wait, I've wanted to try this electronic/digital die cutting machine for ages! Hopefully I'll be finished reorganizing my studio next week when it arrives and I will share photos! So going forward, you'll be able to click on the Cricut category over on my right sidebar, to find all project postings using the Cricut!
Now on to today's post ... JustRite has another pretty new floral stamp set release for you, called Beautiful Day:
I repurposed another dollar bin set of notecards with two of the three floral centers in this new large oval JustRite Original ribbed set. I had never heard of a Snowdrop flower -- aren't they pretty?
The floral image were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black in on Copic's X-Press It Blender Card. I shaded the white flowers with Copic C1 & C3 markers -- doing this will really make anything pop more, so give it a try! Also airbrushing the background with Copic Y32 marker (while the cardstock was still in the Spellbinders Classic Oval Nestabilities die), will make the white flowers pop. A little Clear Copic Atyou Spica Glitter Pen helps the flowers sparkle!
I colored the lilies to resemble my favorite pink star gazers. By using a very pale R000 to blend the R81, R83, R85 flowers just to the edges, it makes the outer edges of the flowers appear white. The border was stamped with Lettuce dye ink and then colored with Copic Y32. KaiserCraft light green rhinestones accent the border.
EDITED FEB 2, 2011: I go into more depth and detail and give you some more tips about coloring things white with your Copics over at the Copic Oz (Australia) blog.
There will be another JustRite new stamp set introduction later today and I'll also ring in the New Year with my January and 2011 calendars either tomorrow or over the weekend, so I hope you'll check back!

I too have been having problems I usually have to go down to old posts and click on one of them to get to your site and then click home on your page. I received a cricut create for Christmas so I look forward to seeing some Cricut creations :)
Your coloring of these flowers is so pretty!

Yep, I was having problems clicking for your blog also, but my computer has been grouchy this last week! I love your new stamps and how you can use them with cards you purchased. They are stunning. My mother talked about snowdrop flowers in southern Illinois, but we never had any. The grade school she attended was named Snowdrop--I suppose, after the flowers.

Sharon, I'm so happy I ran accross your blog and became a follower, I just tried the coloring with white tricks of the trade you shared on a box project I intend to sell at a craft show and it looks much better than my first two attempts. I'll be posting it soon. Thanks again:)
