Welcome to the First Annual Scrap-Mart.com Blog Hop! I was honored to be asked to participate in this first ever event! I've had the pleasure of meeting the owners of Scrap-Mart at local scrapbooking conventions and CHA Consumer Shows and I can tell you they are the sweetest, kindest people! So look for them at your next local scrapbooking convention or you can shop with them online anytime -- they stock one of the best online stores around, including some of my very favorite products!
If you are just joining the hop, please go to the Scrap-Mart blog to start from the beginning. There are 31 blogs participating in the hop and you will find some great prizes along the way. You must comment on THAT blog post to be eligible to win that prize. There are also some Grand Prizes posted on the Scrap-Mart blog. You must comment on EVERY blog throughout the hop to be eligible for the Grand Prizes. Comments will remain open until midnight CST on Sunday, December 5th. Winners will be chosen at random for each individual prize and will be announced on the Scrap-Mart blog on Friday, December 10. You may only win once. We'd like to thank these sponsors for generously donating all the prizes for this hop: Making Memories, Spellbinders, JustRite Stampers, Sizzix, Heartfelt Creations, Lifestyle Crafts, The Stamps of Life, Boss Kut, Unity Stamps, October Afternoon, Copic, Silhouette America.
My project for today's hop is my December calendar! You'll be happy to know that I'm almost finished making my 2011 calendar downloads (for those of you who have been asking!) and I'll announce it here on my blog as soon as they are available -- hopefully by the end of today!
(Click on any photo for a larger view)
If you are new to my blog, my calendar for this year is made out of 4-inch chipboard coasters, hinged together with strips of ribbon. Each month is adhered to the back of the previous month so that the whole year forms a "book" that stands up by itself on a desk or countertop! You can find links to all of my previous calendars by clicking on the "Calendar" category in the right sidebar of my blog and/or the Calendar Photo Album, under the Category section.
On the left side of this month's calendar is one of my favorite JustRite Stampers images (yes, Scrap-Mart carries JustRite stamps!) -- the cardinal & birdhouse from 3-1/4" Christmas Treasures. The image was stamped with Rich Cocoa ink onto Neenah Natural White cardstock and colored with the Copic markers listed below. You'll be happy to know that Scrap-Mart also carries a wonderful selection of Copic products! The cardinal was die cut with Spellbinders Labels One die and while the cardstock was still in the die, I airbrushed it with Copic BG13 to match some of my favorite past October Afternoon papers. Star Dust Stickles are on the holly berries and a small paper doily sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink completes this page.
The right side of my calendar contains the downloadable 3-inch calendar (no month) I created and the month was stamped with JustRite's Calendar set and Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink. It was die cut with Spellbinders Labels Eight die. Red crochet trim and tied buttons complete the page.
Thanks for stopping by today . . . Now you can hop on over to Boss Kut to see their project for today's hop!
Here's the entire hop list -- good luck on winning some giveaways!
