You all cracked me up with all of your comments on my first Workdesk Wednesday blog post! Yes, my desk is usually messier than that first photo, but remember -- I had just done a MAJOR cleanup! Here it is today, back to it's usual in-the-middle-of-working-on-too-many-projects-at-once mode:
(Copic storage towers can be found at Studio 3 Solutions)
I knew it wouldn't stay that clean for very long -- I still have some remnants left over from last week's projects! Those images in the middle are some Lockhart stamped images on Copic X-Press It Blending Card that I started coloring for my February calendar (yep, back to running late on that, too!). This is as far as I got Monday evening when I decided I needed to run some errands yesterday morning after taking my kiddos to school. We had an Arctic cold front hit North Texas overnight (wind chills are below zero!), and I wanted to get what errands I needed run and stock up on some groceries before the possibility of being snowed & iced in again for a few days. Last week we had a few inches of ice for 3 days, temps that didn't get out of the teens, and then 6 inches of snow on Friday -- our schools were closed for 4 days. I know that's not unusual for a lot of you further north, but I don't think we've ever had that many snow days in one one school year!
We got enough sleet this morning that the streets are frozen over and we're stuck at home again, so I'll be working through this pile on my desk today! See that stack of clear Iris photo storage boxes on the left? Those are full of some new JustRite stamp sets I need to make samples with, so I better get to it! Hopefully I can squeeze in getting my calendar finished later today, too!
Hope you are staying warm where you are -- we're not expected to get above freezing until Friday!
I'd love to see those images completed. That work space makes me want to go home and create something! Stay warm!!

Love your storage. My desk is also where I pay bills, do paperwork and taxes so always have some 'work papers' mixed in with my 'play papers'. I think this is a neat blog feature-I like seeing what others are doing.

Well, that work desk still looks VERY NEAT AND TIDY to me, Sharon! Hope your weather is not too bad today ... but being snowed or iced in means all you can do is 'play' in your craft space - sounds dreamy to me :):):)

I am seriously having copic envy right now!!!!

Like Debbie above just said, your desk looks incredibly tidy and organized to me! I'd be ashamed to post a photo of my work area - HONESTLY! LOL
Stay warm!! We're finally warming up here in PA, but the snow on the ground (over a foot in some places) has a crust of ice on the top, so it will be weeks before it's completely gone!

Your desk still looks a lot better than mine does, Sharon. I think our kiddos will be going to school until July for as many days as we had off. It's been ridiculous this year. they stopped building in snow days because the parents got tired of having the kids off on odd days when they didn't use them. This year we had no days built in but we took a ton of them. Today we are below zero and we are supposed to be again tomorrow. Sure hope that groundhog was right and spring comes early!

Gee, Sharon, even your "messy" desk looks pretty darn neat! It's just crazy how the weather's been in your area of the country. Texas is supposed to be warming up about now, isn't it? I hope you guys stay warm and cozy!

Your desk looks great. What are you using to store your copics in and where do I get one? 103
Posted by: Chelle K | February 09, 2011 at 10:51 AM
Wow, your desk is much neater than mine, and I haven't worked on anything in a few days. I was born and raised in Dallas, so I know the weather you are having now is unusual. The up side, school will be going on until mid June.
By the way, where did you get those storage boxes for your JustRite stamps. I have been looking for a way to store mine.

I think it's your comment about working on too ay projects at once that makes you feel your desk is messy. Too the rest of us it looks great. It's all in our own perceptions. I was working on Valentine ideas myself yesterday and at one point was chasing too may rabbits, (thinking off ideas for too many different people at once) and felt totally disorganized and uninspired, but it was just a matter of needing to focus. Thanks for sharing your space.

Wow Loving your blog Sharon, BTW Your desk at it's messiest wouldn't come close to mind when i call it "clean" lol I've just starting playing with Copics so I'm sure I will be nosing around quite often.
TFS hugs Claudia

Your desk still looks pretty organized to me! Nice space to work in!

I just wish I had a dedicated work area for my card making, instead of a TV tray, but not much room in this apartment. Your set up is wonderful. What do you keep in the boxes in the left front of the photo?

Still a whole lot neater than mine on a good day.

I live in southern Ontario and actually, we've never had 4 snow days in a season that I can remember and especially not in a row. We are more prepared for snow so we never get that many! Looking forward to your Feb calendar.

Oh, so neat, even when a work is in progress! I love your creations. Can't wait to see the finished calendar!

Wow, to have a "work" like yours would be a dream come true. I have already told my hubby...if I would win a healthy (not exorbitant mind you) lottery I would build a craft room onto the back of my sweetheart's home. I know it's a dream, but that's what life is about sometimes!

Seeing as it never snows here , we are lovley and warm downunder although there are scudding showers today it is 22C so call that perfect unless you want to put washing non the line!
Ah love your work area and have some of the that paper you mention Sharon, it actually is from Australia as I found out about it on a Copic site and they were having a workshop here in Oz when they sourced it and so it went back with them!! Howzat?

I think if you can see desk you can't classify it as messy!! Love all the hearts you're working on. I saw ice on the palm trees in Texas on the news, that's not something you see very often! We're supposed to get a crazy warm up in Michigan next week, we might hit 40F. That's totally crazy too! Have a wonderful crafty weekend.
