Today’s JustRite Friday Challenge is to use this photo as either overall inspiration and/or to use any combination of the color palette:
Here’s my sample:
I used JustRite’s Mother Nature’s Gifts 3-1/4” flower center and stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto Neenah Natural White cardstock. I die cut the paper with Spellbinders largest Labels Twenty-One die (I thought it would make a great tag shape -- it's almost 5.50" tall!) and while the cardstock was still in the die, I airbrushed Copic Y21 around the flowers:
COPIC AIRBRUSHING TIP: It’s not my favorite thing to take the time to fussy cut masks for airbrushing, so my quick & easy (lazy!) way is to try and not get too much overspray onto images I don’t want airbrushed, and then just use the Copic Colorless Blender marker to remove any overspray color from the images that I may not want. Especially with a light color like this yellow, it removes easily and doesn’t make too much difference in the final colored image!
Next, I colored the flowers with these Copic markers:
I used YR’s for the flowers and the YG63 to shade in a little of the flourish border (stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves) around the sentiment. The YG63 Various Ink Refill was used to custom dye and add a little deeper color to my light moss seam binding ribbon.
The Spring sentiment (from the same stamp set) was stamped with Rich Cocoa ink, die cut with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities and then airbrushed with the YR61 Copic marker. The edges were sponged with Cocoa ink and then layered onto a yellow cardstock mat, and stacked onto the green flourish border. Star Dust Stickles accents the flowers and border.
You can find all the challenge details (and prize info!) over at the JustRite Inspiration blog. We hope you’ll play along – you have until April 14th to do so. These Copic designers and instructors also have samples for this challenge to share today – I hope you’ll click through to see their awesome inspiration!
