A new Friday Challenge has been posted over at the JustRite Inspiration blog today . . . we hope you’ll join in and play along! The challenge is to make your own flower embellishment for a papercrafted project using JustRite Stamps! Here’s my 6-inch scrapbook page of my youngest daughter I made for the challenge:
Banners are a hot trend right now and I wanted to incorporate one into this page. I discovered JustRite’s Myriad Pro 50-pt Font fits perfectly inside Spellbinders new Banner Basics die sets! I stamped the letters with Memento Rich Cocoa ink to spell out SWEET onto these gorgeous BasicGrey Hello Luscious solid papers and then die cut them all at once with Banner Basics One dies in the Grand Calibur:
The letter panels are popped up with foam tape onto the banner base and then the whole banner popped up on foam tape and “hung” with twine at the top of the page:
These dies have so much fun dimension to them –- love those tassels! The raspberry zigzag piece I used to frame the photo is also from the Banner Basics One die set – I like the more petite scale and think it will work fabulously for smaller scrapbook pages like this one, or cards!
To create the flower embellishment, I used both Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities Large and Small die sets to cut solid and patterned papers:
One pass through the Grand Calibur and all the pieces were cut! No need to emboss the circles, just move on to the next step.
Next, I used Tonic’s Tim Holtz Paper Distresser to rough up the edges of the circles:
Then, crumple the circles and work with them until they are no longer stiff and layer them together with foam tape and you have this quick and easy flower:
My intention was to use all of the paper pieces I die cut, but the patterned papers were making the flower look a little too busy, so I only used the smallest one for the center of my flower, topped with a button. And I also have those leftover patterned paper pieces to make another flower for a different project!
A Foliage die cut finishes this page. I hope you have a fabulous weekend and take time to play along with this challenge –- you could win some wonderful Spellbinders dies and JustRite stamps if you do!

Also forgot to say, I love the handmade flower. It looks like you didn't use all six circles though? Can this flower be made at any size?
