Gina K May Release Blog Hop 2!

Welcome to Day 2 of Gina K Designs’ May release stamp set inspiration blog hops! Our first stamp set being introduced today is: Dreams by Tami Mayberry: I loosely used this week’s CPS #220 sketch that Gina K Designs is sponsoring (check the CPS blog tomorrow to see the GKD prize package you could win!): For my June calendar topper: The calendar page measures 8.50" x 5.50" (a half sheet of cardstock). Tami’s beautiful oval butterfly frame stamp was colored with Bahama Blue, Rich Cocoa and Rose Bud Memento Markers directly on the stamp, then stamped onto Gina’s Ivory Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Cardstock. The image was die cut with Spellbinders Classic Oval Nestabilities and the edges inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink -- I love the rustic vintage feel to this stamp set! The image was popped up with foam tape over a folded 4” white doily (it appears those sold out quickly in Gina's store, but check back -– I’m sure they’ll be in stock again soon). Gina K Designs Mix It Up Monday Challenge!

Hello everyone –- Happy Memorial Day! I am excited to bring you today's Mix It Up Monday StampTV Challenge: Use sewing on your project -- either real or faux stitching OR a sewing themed project AND a Copic balloon coloring tutorial! The Gina K design team recently gave you a hop full of Sew Fun inspiration, which you can find HERE . . . now we want to see what YOU create! Here's what I came up with: I machine stitched the balloon strings and zig-zag stitched around the die cut image. The popcorn box was a find at Michael’s and I just covered it in a cute kid-friendly, festive & colorful patterned paper from BasicGrey’s Sweet Threads 6x6 pad! Fruit Punch Stickles accents the top of the scalloped box. We can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge! Gina K May Release Blog Hop 1!

Welcome to Day 1 of Gina K Designs’ May release stamp set inspiration blog hops! Our first stamp set being introduced today is: Vogue Vases by Theresa Momber - Isn’t this a fun set? You can design any kind of floral arrangement you’d like in the vases, or use any of the elements separately! I decided to make a birthday tag card, using some of fabulous new patterned paper from the new May/June Stamp TV Kit-Vintage Chic AND the gorgeous new Gina K Designs cardstock color this month, Just Peachy – I LOVE these colors together! I created a tag card base measuring 5.50” x 3.75” out of Gina’s Pure Luxury Heavy Base Weight Ivory Cardstock cardstock (folds at the top) and attached a strip of black & white patterned paper from the new Vintage Chic Stamp TV Kit (you can see Gina’s preview video of the kit HERE and see what she used to also color the patterned paper!). Recipe Time!

I have a few favorite family recipes I am finally getting printed onto cards and into my recipe box, so I thought I'd share this one with you today -- it's a favorite of my entire family! Paper is from October Afternoon's 5 & Dime 8x8 pad. The little accent piece was made with an Inchie Arts White Inchie Square that I stamped with two different Lockhart stamps -- Itty Bitty Leaf Border and Jar of Berries (I thought the berries resembled the oyster crackers!): I colored the images with these Copic markers: The Inchie Square was matted with a Spellbinders Labels One die, cut from Memory Box Sapphire cardstock (a very dark blue which is looking black in the photo, I'm afraid). Pretty striped ribbon from Cindy's store is held in place with Copic's X-Press It High Tack Double-Sided tape. Summer Countdown Calendar!

Happy Friday, everyone! My kids have been asking for a Countdown to Summer calendar, so here it is! GKD Sew Fun Blog Hop!

Members of Gina K's Design Team have come together to host a hop with sewing as the center theme. Along the hop you will find a variety of sewing techniques from hand sewing to faux stitching! Here's my stitched birthday card: (Click on any photo for a larger view) I used this beautiful Floral Wreath stamp set I had been itching to get my hands on -- isn't it gorgeous?!! I stamped it onto Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored it with some of the new 2011 Copic colors I love together: The card base was embossed with Spellbinders Flower Silhouette Impressabilities and the outer edge of the card machine stitched -- sewing is an easy way to visually add another layer to your work, without covering up anything you still want to show, like this embossed background. It's been a while since I shared What's on my Workdesk Wednesday, so here's today's: I had been working on some new Copic color selections to add to JustRite's collections and am happy to announce they are ready to be shared! You can find the new color chart to download from JustRite's site HERE, and you can find the new collections HERE and singles HERE. You Are The Best!

Today JustRite Stampers is introducing their next May release stamp set, You Are The Best: This set will be wonderful for upcoming teacher appreciation, graduations, Father's Day, school team spirit, award winning recipes, anyone's birthdya -- for just about any occasion! The circular award ribbon matches with Spellbinders Blossoms Three dies and the banners match Spellbinders' Regular & Lacey Pennants dies! I used both die sets and both sizes of award ribbon stamps on my Teacher Appreciatiation gift jar: For the front of my jar I used the smaller award ribbon stamp, stamped with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink onto Neenah Natural White cardstock and then colored with R22, R24, R27 & Y11 Copic markers. The center yellow "World's Best" piece was die cut separately and popped up on foam tape: The jar lid was topped with colorfully striped paper that matches the gumballs. The larger award stamp from this set was stamped with Ranger's Adirondack Stream dye ink and colored with BG53 & BG72 markers. The center "You're the Best" sentiment was stamped with Memento Rhubarb stalk ink, die cut and popped up on foam tape. JustRite Heartfelt Thanks

Today JustRite Stampers is introducing two more new May stamp sets -- Just Because Mini Sentiments Original Ribbed: And Because I Care cling set: The Just Because I Care Mini Sentiments will fit in the Because I Care cling frames, and the Because I Care frames were made to match Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two that JustRite now carries in their webstore! I chose to use the Just Because Mini Sentiments for this Heartfelt Thanks card: I simply lined up the ribbed sentiments on a Clear Horizontal Stamper and stamped them all at once with black ink onto white cardstock, to make my own background paper! Then I used the "Heartfelt Thanks" sentiment from this set and stamped it with Rose Bud ink and die cit it with JustRite's Nested Sentiments Die. Baby Blog Hop - It's A Girl!

Hello, everyone -– happy Friday! Today we're helping my sweet friend, Taylor Van Bruggen spread the word... she's expecting a sweet little bundle of GIRL in September! Embrace Life!

Today's JustRite Stampers new May release introduction is this 2-inch round Sending You Sunshine: A lot of great greetings, aren't they?!! I used the "Embrace Life" center for my card: I love that the little flower can be customized with any colors you choose! I stamped it with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored it with Copic R81, R85 and YG03. It's hard to tell, but Star Dust Stickles was added to the flower center. The center sentiment was die cut with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities, then popped up on foam tape over the border stamped with Memento Rose Bud ink onto a Floral Doily Motifs die cut -- I liked the way the border fit right on the edges of the die cut holes, accenting them! The border die cut was popped up on foam tape over a Labels One die cut from The Girls’ Paperie-Paper Girl patterned paper. To help make the Labels One die cut stand out from the background paper on the card front, I used Copic YG03 to color the embossed edges of the die cut and it is also popped up on foam tape. JustRite Smile Time!

Today's JustRite newest May release stamp set is 3-1/4" round Smile: I took the "Find Time to Laugh a Little" sentiment from this set literally and created an 8-inch real working clock! Here's how it started out -- as a Target Dollar Spot find about 4-5 years ago: I made this clock for my young girls, so I wanted something a little bright and fun -- not too formal or stuffy. So I covered the wooden clock with some October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper (I thought the some of the brightly colored words on it were appropriate for a clock, like "we do not remember days; we remember moments.") and painted the edges with black acrylic paint. Then I stamped a border from this stamp set with Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Classic Cream cardstock and die cut it with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities, for a center embellishment: The very center of the clock is another piece of coordinating Thrift Shop paper. I stamped the sentiment at the #12 spot with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink and die cut it, then layered it onto a Spellbinders black Floral Doily Accent die cut.
