Welcome to the Copic Coloring Guide Blog Hop! I was so honored to be asked to contribute to this fabulous coloring guide! The contributing designers have information about the new book, beautiful coloring, stunning card projects, and BLOG CANDY for you today!
The Copic Coloring Guide is a new book by Colleen Schaan and Marianne Walker. It's the perfect resource for beginner and intermediate coloring artists alike. The book contains information about the different styles of Copic markers, explains the coloring/numbering system, details how to choose good blending groups, teaches a number of blending techniques through illustrated tutorials, and de-mistifies the colorless blender marker. And that's just in the first 18 pages!
The book also contains over 40 beautiful coloring card projects separated into beginner, intermediate and advanced skill level. Each card project includes step-by-step coloring AND assembly instructions, along with supply lists and manufacturer information, to make recreating the projects simple and easy.
Here’s one of my favorite card projects I had published in the book:
One of my very favorite Lockhart Stamp Company images -– Apples in Chintz Bowl! You'll find the full details and project list on how to create this card in the book.
The book is published by Annie's Attic, a division of DRG, also the publishers of the popular CardMaker magazine. Click HERE for more information or to purchase the book (also available in PDF electronic download).
How would you like to win an AUTOGRAPHED copy? Each of the contributing designers is hopping today and each one is giving away a copy of the book signed by both authors AND the designer! I would love, Love, LOVE to win this book. I have just discovered Copic Markers (thanks to blogs like yours) and I am re-discovering all of my stamps that I can use to color with. I would like to learn more about mixing different colors in. I'm learning to to use the 2 or 3 different shades of one color, but I feel I need to use some accent colors to add some depth. I bet this book would really help me with that.

your bowl of apples is so pretty! they look so real!
I think that coloring nature images would be a neat challenge with the copics because of the range of shades found there. I like to use these in my projects.

I like to color children/childish characters. There such a softness you can achieve with the Copics, that just brings out so much personality.

thanks for the chance to win this book. It looks fantastic! My favorite things to color right now are cute little kid stamps.
Posted by: Cassie D | July 06, 2011 at 11:03 AM
I love Lockhart stamps and everything of hers! I have taken some of the classes teaching Prismacolors from her, but I think I like Copics better. Plus you can get a lot of color with a lot less time that layering pencils. I just haven't purchased any Copics yet because it seems overwhelming and too expensive to buy the whole set at once!
Posted by: Sheri | July 06, 2011 at 11:04 AM
Beautiful card! I love to color everything and feel very hard pressed to pick something I like best... if I had to choose, I think characters - people, animals, monsters etc. but I love to mix it up really and do all sorts! :-)
