And finally, I’ll leave you with a birthday card using Karen Lockhart’s pretty new Petunias on the Gate stamp that was just released last month:
This is for my husband’s dear sweet aunt, whom we visited last month and who reminded me that she always loves receiving my handmade birthday cards! It’s such a pleasure to create for those who truly appreciate! Her yard is full of gorgeous, lush gardens, and this pretty garden gate reminded me of her.
I stamped the gate onto Copic’s X-Press It Blending Card and colored it with these Copic Markers:
I used a few C colors to shade the white gate and give it dimension. To make the white of the gate stand out instead of blend into the white cardstock of the background, I used BG0000 for the sky -- stopping at the edge of the embossed oval die cut:
The centers of the flowers were all accented with Orange, Lemon and Pink Copic Atyou Spica Glitter Pens. I airbrushed the white doily with Copic Y21, so it would stand out against the white square die cut background and add some “sunshine” to the card!
I used the new CPS #226 for the layout of my card. I think that’s all of my updates for today . . . I’ll be back with some more projects this week! ~ Sharon
