Welcome to the first day of JustRite Stampers' October release blog hops! Before we get started, I wanted to mention a sale that JustRite is having: All JustRite Original Ribbed Square stamps are now just $10 and the stamper/mount is also on sale! There are lots of pretty holiday and all occasion stamps to choose from -- you can find them all HERE. Now on to my card for today, using JustRite's new cling rubber stamp set, Autumn Labels Twenty-Two:
It coordinates with Spellbinders new summer release die set, Labels Twenty-Two ... isn't it gorgeous?!! I made a topper cutout card:
Overall, the measurements are the same as a normal A2 sized card: 4.25" x 5.50". The label die cut is mounted on the inside of the card:
So when you open up the card, you can still see the beautiful label inside!
I added some more patterned paper on the inside, too. Here's a closeup of that gorgeous pumpkin/Give Thanks label, accented with chocolate flat-backed pearls:
It was colored with these Copic markers and Gold and Sand Atyou Spica Glitter Pens (colors listed below):
The seam binding ribbon started out the bright gold color shown on the left below. I used Copic Various Ink Refills E31 and E35 to add some depth to the ribbon. I just placed the ribbon in a baggie and placed a few drops of the refill ink in the bag and smushed it all around, to distribute the ink, for a nice aged and vintage look:
This is the only way I could figure out how to die cut this kind of topper card. If someone else has accomplished this easier another way, please let me know! I cut and scored/folded my card base and then placed the fold on the edge of my die cutting mat, so that only the lower part of the die would cut through the cardstock. No need to do the embossing step since the card base label will be covered with my colored and die cut label:
Then when you fold the card, the label portion flips up and becomes the base to attach the colored label to. Now that the top is flipped up the overall card height is taller, so the length can be trimmed at the bottom to A2 size. Or for this specific die size, I could have started with a 4" tall x 4.25" wide card base.
Hopefully this photo of the back of the card helps to explain, too:
And because I know you all will ask -- my Custom Designer Stamp on the back is also from JustRite Stampers. They have a huge custom selection to choose from HERE. You can customize them with your own information however you wish, and they are self-inking ... such a time saver!
To finish my card, I stamped the additional "A Bountiful Thanksgiving" sentiment from this set onto some patterned paper and cut it into a banner shape. Then I placed it onto a small pumpkin I die cut out of corrugated cardboard. I have another card sample with this set, two posts below this one.
This different opening was fun to do -- I hope you'll give it a try! These JustRite designers also have projects with this set to share today. You'll also want to drop by the JustRite Inspiration blog and leave a comment, for your chance to win a $50 JustRite shopping spree!
