The Design Team for Gina K Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop, with the October release stamp sets! Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through the blogs listed below, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a Gina K Designs Grab Bag that could have anything from stamps to paper to embellishments in it! To see the list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a couple of days after the hops!
Our first featured stamp set today is Stately Flowers 5 by Melanie Muenchinger:
If you love flowers as much as I do, you can find Melanie’s other four Stately Flowers series stamp sets HERE! I thought I’d switch gears to Thanksgiving with my first card today:
(CLICK ON ANY PHOTO FOR A LARGER VIEW)
I stamped both sizes of sunflowers in this set with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto Gina’s Sandy Beach Heavy Weight cardstock and then colored them in subdued hues of Copic markers (listed below). Gold Copic Atyou Spica Glitter Pen was used on the flower centers.
The colored panel was matted with Ivory cardstock and then adhered with Copic Foam Tape to a card base of *brand new* pretty Christmas Pine Heavy Weight cardstock. The scalloped edge is a Silhouette Studio cut file (a freebie, I believe, that came with the machine), cut from Sweet Corn cardstock.
Our second featured set today is Vogue Vases 2 by Theresa Momber:
Which is a follow up to Theresa’s popular predecessor, Vogue Vases. Imagine all the possibilities of these two sets combined! I recently took the plunge and ordered some Project Life scrapbooking supplies and decided I would start making some inserts for my scrapbooks in a 4” x 6” size … so you’ll probably start seeing a lot more projects from me in that size! This is one of them:
I stamped three of the solid vases with jewel toned inks onto their respective Vogue Vases 2 Silhouette cut file cut-outs. The blue ink I had was too dark for the stamped word to show up on it, so I used the outline version of the tall vase, stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto Gina K Heavy Base Weight Cardstock Ivory cardstock and colored it with Copic B66. I love that Theresa put both versions (outline and solid) stamps in this one set! The tree branch & flowers were colored with Copic Sand Atyou Spica Glitter Pen and R85/R89 (flowers), YG93 (leaves):
Since I wanted to keep this Project Life insert as flat as possible for my scrapbook, I got creative with flat layering –- I used the same Silhouette scalloped edge cut file as above to cut both colors of cardstock (Fresh Asparagus and *new* Warm Cocoa) and then layered the Asparagus negative cut on the top portion of the card. Before I adhered the Warm Cocoa scalloped layer to the bottom part of the card, I made sure adhesive would show thru the scallops. After adhering the Cocoa cardstock, I sprinkled Ranger Stickles Star Dust Dry Fine Glitter into the scallops. A little machine stitching around the top and a bit of ribbon & button complete this card.
