The Gina K Designs design team welcomes you to day 3 of our fabulous February release Inspiration Blog Hops … Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! As you hop through the blogs listed below, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a few days after the hops.
Our first featured stamp sets today are Lots of Dots by Beth Silaika:
And this month’s 1 Free with 3 set, Petite Borders:
I combined them both on these two cards, along with Melanie's A Year of Flowers 2 from Monday:
For this card, I stamped the cool dotty circles with black ink randomly onto Gina’s Ivory Heavy Base Weight Cardstock and layered it onto a card base of Black Onyx, matted with Turquoise Sea . . . I think this is my new favorite color combination! The Petite Border is difficult to see in the photo above, but below you can see it a little better:
I stamped it with Versamark and clear embossed it along the bottom edge of the black piece. I like how it mimics Melanie’s A Year of Flowers 2 water lily shape. The flower was stamped onto White cardstock, die cut with its matching A Year of Flowers 2 Silhouette Cut File, colored with BG53 & BG49 Copic markers and popped up on Copic Foam Tape. Tami’s All Occasion Tags 2 sentiment was stamped with white pigment ink.
For a different background look on my next card, I used Faber-Castell Gelatos (green variety pack) to color the largest row of solid Lots of Dots, spritzed them with water, and stamped onto Gina’s Ivory Heavy Base Weight Cardstock:
The scalloped Petite Border was stamped with black ink on the Turquoise Sea cardstock layer at the bottom. Again, Melanie’s A Year of Flowers 2 daisy was stamped onto its coordinating A Year of Flowers 2 Silhouette Cut File, colored with Copic BG53 & YG23, and popped up on foam tape.
Below is a little bit different variation of the above background . . .
Our next featured stamp sets today are this month’s Darling Divas by Debbie Corbari (Mommy-to-Be, Day at the Park, Serenity):
My first card uses Serenity Diva and the same background technique as above, except I also added Beth’s outline circles in black ink, for a more defined look … the clear stamps make it a breeze to line them up, over the green Gelato dots:
Serenity was stamped in black ink onto a Spellbinders Classic Circle die cut of Ivory cardstock and colored with these Copic markers: (Y21 & E33-hair, E00 & E11-skin, R81-lips, YG13 & YG25-top, T4 & T5-pants, BG53 & BG49-mat, T0-shadow).
The background was an Ivory piece of leftover cardstock I used to die cut Monday’s All Occasion Tags 2 sentiment with Spellbinders Grommet Tags die. I popped the whole background up over the Grass Green cardstock on which the sentiment was stamped underneath. Ohmmmmmmm . . .
And finally, my last card today uses Day at the Park Diva, for a very quick, clean and simple card. I thought it would be fun to put Diva up in the air on a cloud – it’s the first thing I thought of when I saw this cute sentiment!
Ocean Mist and Jelly Bean Green cardstocks were used for the background. Washi tape was machine zig-zag stitched on the “grass”. The clouds were stamped with Ocean Mist Color Companion Ink Pad and lightly colored with Copic BG0000. Diva was stamped onto her coordinating Day at the Park Diva Silhouette Cut File and colored with these Copic markers:
Diva’s die cut was trimmed / modified a little (the picnic blanket cut out), then she was adhered to her cloud!
