The Gina K Designs design team welcomes you to day 3 of our fabulous May release Inspiration Blog Hops … Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! As you hop through the blogs listed below, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News forum at Stamp TV a few days after the hops.
Our first featured stamp set today is Weather or Not by Beth Silaika:
I loved all the matching images and sentiments in this set and wanted to pair up a few of them, so I came up with a set of 3" x 4" Project Life cards for my scrapbooking. These could also be used as sweet lunch box notes for your kids OR they are also (near) ATC size!
(Click on any photo for a larger view)
I had so much fun with these! I started by using Beth's coordinating Weather or Not Silhouette cut file and die cut Gina's Ivory Heavy Base Weight cardstock (I use a blade setting of 10). Then I chose some other colors of Gina's Heavy Base Weight cardstock to use as bases (Ocean Mist, Sweet Corn, Blue Denim, and retired Smokey Slate). Here are the details:
1-Umbrella was stamped with Memento Gray Flannel ink and then colored with Copic markers R20, R21, BG10, BG53, Y11, Y15, YG11, YG13 and T4. Raindrops were stamped with Gina's Ocean Mist Color Companions ink pad on Ocean Mist cardstock base and filled in with Star Dust Stickles.
2-Sun was stamped with Gina's Sweet Mango & Sweet Corn ink pads and filled in with Star Dust Stickles. Rain boot was stamped with Grass Green Color Companions ink pad. Tami's Simple Flowers and Carolyn's Stamp it Big 2 bird were stamped with Sweet Corn ink on Sweet Corn cardstock base.
3-Moon was stamped with Gina's Ocean Mist Color Companions ink pad and filled in with Star Dust Stickles. Stars (small flower from Becky's Bold Blooms) and sentiment from this set were stamped with white pigment ink. Diamond "star" border at the bottom is from Melanie's Pretty Patterns 2 set.
4-Clouds and sentiment were stamped wtih silver metallic pigment ink (one with VersaMark). Small cloud filled in with Star Dust Stickles (if you click the photo for a larger view, you should be able to see the sparkle better).
Our second featured stamp set today is By the Sea 2 by Theresa Momber:
While I was on a calendar making kick this week, I went ahead and made my 6x6 June calendar -- I thought this set was perfect for it!
Remember, if you aren't in to making calendars, you could also use this same idea for a scrapbook page -- just replace the calendar with a photo! Or you could also use this same idea for a birthday card and circle the recepient's birthdate on the calendar.
I started by die cutting Gina's Ivory Heavy Base Weight cardstock with Theresa's coordinating By the Sea 2 Silhouette cut file and then stamped the images with Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I colored the adirondack chairs with Copic E30, E31 and E42. The chairs and pelican are popped up on Copic Foam Tape. The grass, sentiment and birds were all stamped with Rich Cocoa ink directly onto the patterned papers (My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart-Be Amazing). I just tore the papers and layered them to resemble the ocean and sky. I stamped Melanie’s Lots of Letters alpha with Ocean Mist Color Companions ink pad onto my computer generated calendar grid that I printed onto Gina's Ivory Layering Weight cardstock.
