Hi, Everyone -- Before the busy holiday season sets in tomorrow, I wanted to share my annual Christmas countdown calendar with you!
As usual, the calendar is available as a free download over on my Downloads & Tutorials page (scroll down to Free Downloads) and prints on one sheet of 8.50" x 11" cardstock with approximately 3.50" of header space at the top for decorating. Or click this link to download the PDF printable file: Download 2013 DEC-Countdown-calendar_sharonharnist
My decoration this year is this adorable You Shine My Favorite Things a' la mode girl, stamped onto an Inchie Arts ATC sized Ivory Art Square with Memento Espresso Truffle Ink Pad.
She was colored with the Copic Sketch Markers shown below:
Glossy Accents covers the light bulbs, to give them a realistic glow! Finishing out the header on my calendar, I used these My Favorite Things Die-namics: Blueprints 9 (scallop border & stitched banner/ribbon), and Accent It-December Memories -- I adore the font in this die set!
An Ivory Inchie Square (currently marking November 27th) is used to move to each day for the count down. I inked parts of the You Shine girl stamp with Espresso Truffle Marker to stamp onto the 1-inch art square, then colored and lacquered same as the large image. Inchie Magnets are on the back of the Inchie Square and calendar, so it will stick to the fridge.
Finishing out the bottom of the calendar, I used MFT's Pierced Rectangles to cut the Keep Calm rectangle (a print from the Pink Paislee 6x6 Snow Village paper I used for this project) and Blueprints 6 (tab & button). (P.S. Your download calendar will have all of the 31'st "New Year's Eve" showing and have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day marked -- I didn't notice mine were cut off until I had finished the calendar!).
For the layout of my calendar, I used this week's Card Sketch #152 over at the MFT blog. I hope all my U.S. friends enjoy your Thanksgiving day and rest up for the busy holidays ahead . . . I'm afraid I'll be looking like this a' la mode girl this weekend, decorating my Christmas tree!
