The Design Team for Gina K. Designs welcomes you to another fabulous Inspiration Blog Hop … Gina and the Design Team will inspire you with many beautiful ideas! And as you hop through their blogs, make sure to leave a comment on each of them because we will choose a few random comments and those stampers will each win a grab bag of Gina K. Designs products! To see the full list of winners check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hops.
Today's featured stamp sets are Stampers Favorites by Melanie Muenchinger -- what a great, year-round set that contains exactly the name of the set, every favorite image and sentiment stampers love and use most frequently!
When I first saw this set I knew I wanted to color this sweet hummer:
Isn't he beautiful?!! I stamped him on watercolor paper with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored him with these Copic markers:
For the background, I used Copic BG0000 Various Ink Refill to "watercolor" the sky, using a water reservoir brush filled with Copic Blender Solution while the paper was still in the die, so I would be left with a white edge around the images:
The flower was originally colored red but I decided I wanted pink tones, so I stamped another one to cut out and place over the top of the red one, for more dimension. It was colored with these RV Copics:
Notice the RV55 isn't part of the usual R63 and R66 blending group, but I like the color variety it adds as a middle tone and I think it works nicely. So don't be afraid to venture out of your normal Copic coloring groups!
Our next featured stamp set today is this beautiful Elegant Flourishes by Carolyn King. I needed a few more of my Advent tags for this year's calendar, and this set made a great swirling flourish for my punched snowflake:
The JOY sentiment is from this year's Poster Board Christmas by Becky Oehlers. The rest of my Advent calendar tags can be found here:
- 2013 Advent Calendar Tags 12 & 14
- 2013 Advent Calendar Tag 13
- 2013 Advent Calendar Tags 1, 11, & 15-17 can be found HERE.

I've also added an Advent Calendar photo album in my right sidebar, with links to all 2013 and 2012 calendar tags.
