Hi, everyone! Today I have a very exciting announcement to make . . . I'm extremely proud to add this new icon to my blog sidebar!
Someone please pinch me! I've adored My Favorite Things' products (and the people behind them!) for ages and was on the design team waayyyy back in 2007, so I'm thrilled to be back! You can see the announcement over on the MFT Blog here.
So to celebrate the day, of course I have some eye candy for you, using one of my favorite MFT stamp lines -- the Pure Innocence series:
For my color palette inspiration, I used MFT's new monthly Color Palette Challenge for May:
You can find all the details about the challenge over on the MFT Blog here (or click the graphic above) and enter for your chance to win!
For my card layout, I used the latest in MFT's fabulous Blueprints Die-namics line, #14 ... I think this is my favorite one yet! The Blueprints Die-namics make card making SO extremely simple, by giving you have all the shapes and pieces you need to quickly and easily make a card . . . . or scrapbook page!
For the Sno Cone (blue) layer, I stamped the large dots from LJD-Darling Dots in Versamark for a subtle patterned background. The sweet Blooming Good Day Pure Innocence girl (an older one from my stash) was stamped with MFT's AWESOME new Black Licorice Hybrid Ink Pad onto Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored with these Copic Sketch markers:
Yes, you heard that correctly -- this FABULOUS new MFT Hybrid Ink works amazingly
well with your Copics (I don't think I'll be using anything else from now on!). Here are the Copic colors I used: R81, R83, R85 (dress & flower); Y21, E31 (hair); E43, E44 (shoes); E00, E11, R20 (skin); BG11 (water); C2, C3, C4 (water can); E30 (ground). BG000 was used to airbrush the sky while the cardstock was still in the die (leaving that nice white edge around the image).
The layers of the Blueprints die cuts were adhered to a 5-inch base of Whip Cream Heavy Weight Cardstock (you will be seeing me use a LOT of this beautiful ivory color of cardstock in the future!) using glue dots (holds heavier carstock better) and foam tape. I adore the stitched detail on the 4-3/4" square and holes on the scalloped kraft pieces and the dimension of the Pink Lemonade cardstock flower!
The fun button die cut was tied with Hemp Cord. To finish the card, I stamped the PI girl and some of her flowers with Pink Lemonade Dye Ink, added a Pink Lemonade scalloped strip, and stamped the sentiment with Kraft Hybrid Ink:
And I hope YOU have a blooming good day! I've been having a blooming GREAT few days playing with the MFT May release products and I can't wait to show you some samples over the next week . . . the countdowns start tomorrow! I hope you'll be back to visit soon, because this release will blow your socks off!
