Tonight I have some of my favorite release projects to share with you! First up is a little bit of a different twist, using the new Suit & Tie Die-namics:
LOL! I had SO much fun making this anniversary card for my husband (could also be a Father's Day card)! Our 20th is next week and we honeymooned in Hawaii, so I thought it would be an appropriate anniversary card for him! Plus, he really prefers shirts like this vs. wearing a suit ANY day! In fact, I based this card on a shirt he has! Not only was the flowered shirt fun to create, it's a shaped gate-fold card! Here's how it opens:
And inside is an appropriate sentiment from this month's new Watt’s Up? -- not only appropriate for the bright shirt, but because he really does brighten my whole world (awww)!!
Here are the easy steps to create this Anniversary Hawaiian or Father's Day Shirt:
1. Cut Orange Fizz cardstock shirt base 3.75” x 5.25”
2. Die cut Orange Fizz shirt (suit, lapel, placket) pieces
3. Die cut Blu Raspberry and Banana Split flowers (Blueprints 12)
4. Die cut Sour Apple leaves (Blueprints 12)
5. Die cut Lemon Drop flower centers (Blueprints 12)
6. Score 1/4” on long outside edges of shirt; fold towards back of die cut. Secure flap with double-sided tape to back of shirt base.
7. Decorate shirt front with flowers and leaves, adhering with Glue Marker/Pen.
8. Attach shirt lapels with 1/4” foam tape to shirt front.
9. Attach right half of placket to right shirt front opening below lapels, extending placket half way off the edge of the shirt, to help keep shirt closed; trim.
10. Die cut buttons from Primitive White cardstock, tie with embroidery thread and attach to shirt placket with mini glue dots.
11. Die cut stitched circle (Blueprints 12) from Orange Fizz cardstock, cut in half and adhere to inside shirt back to serve as back yolk.
12. Die cut heart (Blueprints 15) from Orange Fizz cardstock and adhere to back yolk to serve as label.
13. Stamp sentiment (Watt’s Up?) with Blu Raspberry and Orange Fizz Hybrid inks onto Horizontal Stitched Strip die cut from Smooth White cardstock.
Next up is a Father's Day (or could also be an anniversary card):
This one was also customized with a background paper I created with our house plans that we're currently in the process of finalizing to build (yay!). I printed the plans on Natural cardstock and die cut them with the wonky panel from Blueprints 15. The edges were curled and lifted with foam tape. The background is, of course the fabulous new Pegboard Cover-Up Die-namics, cut from cork.
The Tool Time Die-namics were cut from silver metallic cardstock, Natural and Steel Grey cardstocks. The Natural "wood" parts were shaded with Copic E35 and accented with Silver Copic Atyou Spica Glitter Pen. The sentiment from Let's Tool Around was stamped with Electric Red Hybrid ink onto Primitive White cardstock cut with a Horizontal Stitched Strip. Foam tape was used to lift everything up, giving a great dimensional effect:
Inside, I stamped a row of screws in Steel Grey Hybrid ink and added the Tool Time Die-namics screwdriver:
Finally, I had to throw in a girly card for my teenager:
I can't tell you how many times I've heard this phrase when she's talking to friends! Blueprints 15 was a fabulous, quick and easy start to this card -- the wonky panel was stamped with the new Grid Background ... love! The darling new Lightbulb Die-namics fit perfectly in the (current) Smart Phone die. I love the silver metallic cardstock accents!
The phrase "Say Watt?" from the new Watt’s Up? stamp set was stamped with Razzle Berry Hybrid ink and fit perfectly on the speech bubble from the Smart Phone Die-namics set. Inside is another Blueprints 15 double-pierced strip and Lightbulb, accented with the star from Blueprints 15:
"Bright Idea" is from the Watt's Up? stamp set; hashtag is from Smart Phone Die-namics. So much fun to make ... I was bouncing in my chair! Here's a look at all the dimension on the front of the card:
