Hi everyone -- Thank you so much for your very kind warm welcome to the My Favorite Things design team! I’m very excited to be back today, to help begin previews of MFT‘s May release! Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog to see today’s full stamp set and die reveals. My sample today uses the super cute Sea Life stamp set with coordinating Die-namcs by Lisa Johnson, as well as new Blueprints 15 Die-namics, to create a window card:
Don't you love the Blueprints 15 die set? It makes those "wonky" layered cards so easy to do now! I had been wanting to try to make one, but thought I'd never get the layers just right. Well, BP15 makes it SO easy!
In the photo above, I taped the card closed so I could get a good photo of the fish inside for you. Here's how the card would normally look, standing up:
I love the stitched detail around the circle element in this set! For the blue "water" background layer, first I die cut the Polka Dot Cover-Up from Blu Raspberry cardstock, layered it over Berrylicious cardstock, then die cut the two layers with the wonky BP15 die. Then I used this piece to lay on top of my card front (Natural cardstock stamped with the fantastic new Linen background in Kraft Hybrid ink) to mark where I would need the window opening in the card base layers, then die cut that second hole . . . a LOT easier than trying to cut through four layers of heavyweight cardstock!
For the seaweed, I die cut the coordinating Sea Life Die-namics out of Sour Apple cardstock and stamped them with Versamark ink and clear embossed them, to give them a realistic slimy seaweed look . . . or the look of those plastic aquarium plants! They are popped up on foam tape:
The thanks sentiment was stamped with Hot Fudge Hybrid ink (such a pretty color)! The sand dollar was stamped with Kraft Hybrid ink. And don't you love having a card front layer with that gorgeous stitched detail around the edges (the Natural background layer)? Hopefully you can see the pretty detail by clicking on the photo for a larger view -- mine got a little squished with all the heavy die cutting I did to it!
To finish the inside, I stamped the coral with Grout Gray Dye ink, the sentiment with Kraft Hybrid ink. The goldfish was stamped with Orange Fizz Hybrid ink onto his coordinating Die-namics die cut:
Fish bubbles were stamped with Versamark ink onto a Pierced Circle die cut from Berrylicious cardstock. Here's another view of the closed card laying flat:

what a lovely work of art ... had to go back and see what the sentiment was on the front and thought it was 'thinking of you' because that fish looks so contemplative! What a gorgeous card, Sharon.

I love the circle hole on the front of the card --- at first glance I thought the fish was on the front face of the card until I read to the end of the article. This stamp set sure has brought out the creative juices from all the artists.
