Hello and Happy Mother's Day ... I hope all you Moms out there are having a lovely day! My family is treating me to a wonderful brunch out, so I don't have a dirty kitchen to clean up ... that's always a treat! Then I'm sure there will be some stamping fun for me at some point in the day! What will you be doing?
We are getting closer to the May 13th My Favorite Things Release date and we have another countdown day of previews for you today. Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog to see today’s full stamp set and die reveals AND enter for your chance to win some goodies! My sample today uses a darling new Pure Innocence girl, Can't Wait to See You, the new Gerbera Daisy and Blueprints 15 Die-namics:
I had the idea to make a combo flip (meaning the white panel flips open) and window card out of the Blueprints 15 wonky panel. Here's a view from the top of the card, to help explain it better (click on any photo for a larger view):
The Primitive White front panel has a window opening in it, which is held to the left side of the card with a "hinge" I made from the long narrow double-pierced BP15 piece, and it flips open to reveal the inside of the card. You could also place the pink panel on a hinge so it also flips open, making this a flip-flop card ... so much fun!
Here's what the inside looks like. The card base is made from the large stitched BP15 piece, cut from Natural cardstock. Hopefully you can see how the hinge is formed. After die cutting the long narrow double-pierced piece, I scored it down the middle, and using double-sided high tack tape adhered the front part of the hinge to the front of the white panel, and the back part of the hing to the card front (two separate pieces of tape):
The PI girl was stamped with Black Licorice Hybrid ink onto Copic X-Press It Blending Card and colored with the Copic markers listed at the end of this post. She was cut out and adhered to a Banana Split panel.
To create the shutters on the card front, I stamped them with Hot Fundge Hybrid Ink onto Natural cardstock, then stamped the shutters with the wood pattern from More Washi Patterns in Kraft Hybrid Ink:
Next, I colored the shutters and window frame with Copic E42 (base) and E43 (shading):
The darling Gerbera Daisies were cut from Cotton Candy, Banana Split, Orange Fizz, Bubblegum, and Razzle Berry cardstock. The centers were cut from Kraft cardstock and shaded with Copic E55:
Hopefully you can see the beautiful detail of the MPD Brick Wall Stencil I embossed into the front white panel. This card was so much fun to create!
Thanks for stopping by today ... I'll be back again tomorrow with some more inspiration with the May release products!
We only have 2 days left in this MFT May Release Countdown ... All the new products will be available for purchase on May 13th at 10pm Eastern in the MFT Boutique!
