Welcome back to the My Favorite Things June Release Countdown – just 2 days left until the new products are available on June 10! Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog to see today’s full product reveals AND enter for your chance to win a $75 gift voucher on each of the 7 countdown day blog posts!
My samples today use the adorable new Pure Innocence Sending Big Hugs stamp set and coordinating Sending Big Hugs Die-namics (aren’t you loving having a matching die for these sweet PI girls?!!), along with the amazing new Joy Ride Die-namics and Centerpieces-You Mean The World to Me.
Here’s my first card:
Isn’t she sweet?!! I envisioned she is waving hello to her friend she’s driving to visit! I think the Joy Ride die was mainly meant to be a view of the back of a car, but I thought by changing the back tail lights from red to white or clear, I think this made just as good of a front view of a car! What do you think? I also lowered the “Friend” license plate to the lower part of the bumper and die cut two of the windshield wipers:
Her car is Grout Gray cardstock, with a Steel Blue top and wipers, Steel Grey bumper and tires, and Primitive White headlights and Cloud Trio. The “road” she is driving on is my favorite new Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX, cut from Steel Blue cardstock. The background layer was cut with my favorite stitched panel from Blueprints 13 or Blueprints 15, from Pink Lemonade cardstock (which is actually a lighter, softer pink color than my camera is picking up – both are very pretty but I thought I would just point that out).
The inside uses some of the same elements from the front – I love that “URock” license plate and it fit perfectly on this rectangle piece from Blueprints 13! The card base is the lovely and soft Grout Gray.
My next card sends little miss Sending Big Hugs Pure Innocence around the world!
I was a little stuck as to what colors to use for this card, so I tried the new June MFT Color Palette Challenge for my color selections -- I’m really glad I went outside my comfort zone and tried this color combo I might not have otherwise tried! I hope you’ll try it, too – you could win a fantastic prize by doing so! You can find all the info on this monthly challenge here.
The round frame elements from Blueprints 16 fit the new Centerpieces-You Mean The World to Me perfectly! I die cut Nightshift Blue cardstock with the Centerpieces first, then re-die cut the world portion with the largest circle frame from BP16.
I also cut the large circle frame from Natural cardstock and used the inner portion to adhere my Nightshift Blue world to, then inlaid the Spearmint land pieces. I find Copic’s Glue Marker is wonderful with adhering small (and even large) die cut pieces like this in place. I did the same thing with the sentiment portion of the Centerpieces, replacing the “You” and “Me” with Spearmint die cut pieces.
The new Ampersand Die-namics was used to cut the more simple and graphic smaller ampersand from Spearmint cardstock. I love that this die set has two sizes and two different styles of ampersands, to fit whatever your style of project!
The sentiment was then die cut with a … you guessed it … my favorite Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX! One from Nightshift Blue cardstock and one from Natural cardstock.
Little miss PI Hugs was stamped with Black Licorice Hybrid ink onto her coordinating Sending Big Hugs die cut from X-Press It Blending Card colored with the Copic marker colors listed below.
The inside of this card, again, uses some of the same elements from the outside: BP16 rounded panel element and smaller circular frame, stamped with a PI Sending Big Hugs sentiment, stamped with the brand new (available June 10) Nightshift Blue Hybrid ink:
