Tonight I'm focusing on the new Pierced Fishtail Flags STAX and have three different ideas for you to use them. As I mentioned the first day of this countdown, the regular Fishtail Flags STAX were some of the very first Die-namics I ever purchased and have become a necessary staple in my crafting supplies. So I am thrilled to now have a pierced version! Besides these three different styles of cards and ways to use the Pierced Fishtail Flags Die-namics, you can look back at each of my Release Countdown posts and see the other different ways I used them on most every project!
You'll find direct links to each product used below each of my three projects.
For my first card, I stamped Mona’s gorgeous Blooming Roses onto a 4.25” x 5.50” Primitive White panel and then used the 1-3/16” (third from the largest) Pierced Fishtail Flag to evenly cut three flags. I love that this particular flag is exactly 5.50” long, to fit perfectly on a card front!
TIP: To shorten the rose flags and maintain that beautiful row of piercing along the straight edge top, I used the next size larger flag die and positioned it to the length I needed removed from each flag, then ran it back through my Big Shot:
To create the Birthday Sentiments flag banner, I die cut Wild Cherry cardstock with the next size smaller (than the rose flags) flag and shortened it similarly as above, but used the fishtail end:
Everything was mounted to a Black Licorice card base and accented with red enamel dots. Here's a closeup of that beautiful pierced detail:
{Celebrate Rose Flags Card}
Other Accessories: Copic Foam Tape, red enamel dots
My next card uses Washi Patterns stamps to decorate a rainbow of Pierced Fishtail Flags:
The stamp patterns were the perfect size and scale! Most were stamped in either their coordinating Hybrid Ink color, a shade darker, or Versamark.
The new Peek-A-Boo Heart Frames and Peek-A-Boo Alpha Uppercase letter U were cut from Smooth White cardstock and backed with a Black Licorice strip, then mounted with foam tape to the Smooth White card base. You can easily change up the sentiment strip and flag cardstock colors, for an easy any-occasion quick card!
{Heart U Flags Card}
Additional MFT Stamp: Linen Background,
Other Accessories: Copic Foam Tape, Versamark
I call this card Glam Hello! Shimmery and muted glamorous colors but it was very difficult to photograph on my normal white background! It all started with that beautiful Sno Cone cardstock Layered Rose I had cut for another project but didn't use.
Those pretty polka dots were created with the new Large Polka Dots Stencil simply by placing it on top of Grout Gray cardstock and inking direct-to-paper with a shimmery Versamark Dazzle Frost ink pad (that's the reason they look like they've disappeared a little in the photo below -- it's just a different angle that is reflecting my studio lighting). Then the polka dot paper was die cut with the second to largest Pierced Fishtail Flag twice.
The lined Grout Gray card base was stamped with the new Notebook Paper Background in Berrylicious Hybrid ink -- it ended up matching the Sno Cone rose perfectly. I also stamped the Notebook Paper Background on the diagonal with Whip Cream Pigment ink onto Steel Grey cardstock and die cut it with the next smaller Pierced Fishtail Flag, for the Happy Hellos die cut sentiment.
All the flags were layered onto a Black Licorice panel and then mounted with foam tape to the card base. Here's another view on my normal white background:
{Glam Hello Flag Card}
Other Ink: MFT Whip Cream Pigment ink; Versamark Dazzle Frost,
Other Accessories: Copic Foam Tape & Double-Sided High Tack Tissue Tape; clear gemstone
That's it for my new release projects this month, folks. Thanks so much for joining me the past week and for your very kind comments -- they always make my day! I'll be back on Friday for our Release Rewind -- I hope you'll join me for one last June Release project then! Don't forget about this tid-bit:
