Hello and welcome to an exciting week of the My Favorite Things July Release Countdown! Be sure to head over to the MFT Blog to see today’s full product reveals AND enter for your chance to win a $75 gift voucher on each of the 7 countdown day blog posts! Are you ready to get this release party started? You are in for a HUGE bunch of birthday bash F-U-N this month from MFT! :)
My project today uses both stamp sets (Birthday Chalkboard Greetings and Celebrate You) and the new Blueprints 17 Die-namics being featured today!
I'm in love with this new Blueprints -- isn't it fun?!! A chalkboard easel for all of your chalkboard sentiments and "drawings"! I die cut Steel Grey cardstock for my "chalkboard" and used Grout Gray for the easel. I'm not sure you can see it here on the lighter cardstock, but the easel has a fabulous woodgrain texture to it (click on any photo for a larger view)!
The Birthday Chalkboard Greetings was stamped and heat embossed with white detail powder onto the chalkboard, then Sweet Tooth pigment ink smudged on the chalkboard to resemble chalk. Next, I used the gift border from the Celebrate You stamp set and stamped it in Sweet Tooth pigment ink onto Steel Grey cardstock and let the ink dry for a bit. Then, to give the gifts the look of colored chalk, I dabbed each one with a sponge dauber and Hybrid Ink (colors listed below in the supplies), similar to the Poppin' Pastels technique ... I was thrilled with how this turned out!
The cute banner pieces are included in BP17 and I used the Negative Dot Alphabet Die-namics to create the HAPPY word. Everything was strung together on Hemp Cord.
Inside, I used the oval from BP17 and the loops from the bow die to create balloons! I die cut them from some of the colored vellum I created for last month's Creative Challenge. You can get all the details about that here. The balloons were tied up with more twine. The sentiment is also from the Birthday Challkboard Greetings (LOTS of great sentiments in this set!), stamped in Sweet Tooth pigment ink:
All the new products will be available for purchase on July 8th at 10pm Eastern in the MFT Boutique. During this countdown you can enter to win some HUGE prizes over on the MFT blog . . . where you will also find links to the other design team members that are sharing samples using today’s featured products!
Thanks so much for stopping by … I’ll be back tomorrow with more July release inspiration!

Really nice card! I love the techniques you used. Very different look than what I normally see for blackboard techniques and I really like it. Looks just like using colored chalk on a real chalk board. Fantastic!
