Tonight I'm focusing on the awesome new Cupcake Stand Die-namics. You'll find a fabulous instructional video on how to assemble your Cupcake Stand on the MFT website HERE.
First, I made a sweet cupcake pincushion jar topper with the large scalloped circle, which measures almost 3.75" in diameter, out of MFT's fabulous Felt and a 4oz jelly canning jar!
Here are the steps to create the pincushion:
1. Die cut Blu Raspberry felt with large scalloped circle die from Cupcake Stand Die-namics. Also die cut felt using dies from Blueprints 12: flower (Sweet Tooth), leaves (Jellybean Green), and flower center circle (Cotton Candy).
2. Stitch die cut felt pieces to large scalloped circle.
3. Next, you can attach the pincushion to the jar lid one of two ways (mine is made the 2nd way) -- OPTION ONE: Attach cotton balls or quilt batting to top of jar lid; then
4. Bring scalloped edges over the jar lid and glue to the under side of the lid. Then just place the pincushion lid inside the jar band/rim -- glue in place if you choose.
I wanted the pretty scallops to show on the outside of my jar lid, so here's what I did -- OPTION TWO:
5-6. Hot glue canning lid to the inside of the jar band, so it is secured in place (I used a 4oz quilted jelly canning jar and the jar band measures 2.75" in diameter). Hot glue cotton balls or batting on top side of jar lid. Temporarily place felt scalloped circle over cotton to check for fullness; add more cotton filling if necessary.
7. Gradually hot glue scalloped circle over top of canning lid and cotton, around the top of the rim of jar band, one scallop at a time. (I found the glue dried too quickly if you put it all around the jar band in the beginning like I did in photo 7 above -- especially if you stop to take a photo!). This way, you can also place more cotton under the felt scalloped circle as you go along and find you need more. I wish I had done it this way, as I think I needed a little more stuffing!
8. To make the pincusion look more like a cupcake, die cut Primitive White cardstock with Pierced Fishtale Flag Die-namics twice. Adhere Looped Border (die cut from Cotton Candy cardstock), then run the pieces through a paper crimper. Using strong glue dots, adhere the two flags around the bottom of the jar, overlapping the fish tales for a pretty finished edge:
Tie baker's twine around bottom rim of jar band, allowing the pretty scalloped felt to still show.
Here's a closer view of the finished top:
The pincushion lid still screws off properly and you can use the jar to store extra pins:
The cupcake pincushion sits perfectly on top of its coordinating Cupcake Stand, made from Black Licorice and Razzle Berry cardstock (and coordinates perfectly with my studio, so I can keep handy on my desk):

Other Supplies: Copic X-Press It Double-Sided High Tack Tissue Tape, 4oz quilted jelly canning jar, needle & thread, cotton balls or cotton quilting batting, low temp hot glue gun, paper crimper, glue dots, pins
========
Next, I used the Cupcake Stand flat on a card front, to hold a huge birthday cake I created for my husband's Aunt's birthday next week, using the Bring on the Cake Die-namics and Delicious Birthday stamp set. This tall card measures 4" x 8" and will still mail in a normal business-sized (#10) envelope:
Auntie is such a dear and always treasures (and keeps!) all the cards I send her, so I always want them to be special! The Cupcake Stand was die cut from Steel Blue cardstock and stamped with the Confetti Background stamp and Versamark ink.
The pretty cakes were made from Pink Lemonade cardstock that I sponged with Sweet Tooth Pigment ink and the Diagonal Stripes Stencil:
After die cutting, the cakes were embellished with glittery icing! The Wish sentiment from Delicious Birthday was stamped and silver embossed and the candle colored with Copic YR31. Another fabulous arched sentiment from Delicious Birthday was stamped in Steel Blue at the top of the 4" x 8" Primitive White card base:
The cake plate is just the rim from the Bring on the Cake cake stand, die cut from silver metallic cardstock.
Inside, I stamped more sentiments from Delicious Birthday (this set is FULL of them!), in Steel Blue Premium Dye ink, on a Pink Lemonade scalloped cirlce (which is the Cupcake Stand topper!):
Another Steel Blue Cupcake Stand die cut holds yet another fabulous Delicious Birthday sentiment.

Other Supplies: Sponge, silver metallic cardstock, versamark, silver detail embossing powder, heat embossing tool, glossy accents, twinklets diamond dust glass glitter,
