The time has come . . . Welcome to the September New Product Launch from My Favorite Things! This is the design team's chance to highlight and share more of the new release products that are NOW AVAILABLE for purchase at the MFT Store! Be sure to leave a comment here on my blog post, to be entered for your chance at winning a $100 gift voucher (see last paragraph below for details)!
Tonight I'm focusing on MFT's awesome newest illustrator, Miss Tiina's, adorable new Cute Critters stamp set and coordinating Cute Critters Die-namics!
The first project I have for you is a cute fox pencil box (say that fast three times!):
Isn't he adorable?!! Mr. Fox was stamped with Black Licorice Hybrid Ink onto Copic X-Press It Blending Card and die cut with his coordinating Die-namics. He was colored with Copic Sketch markers (colors listed below in Supply section) and popped up on foam tape on his tree stump (stamped with Chocolate Brown Hybrid Ink onto Kraft cardstock and shaded with E42 Copic marker).
The pencil sentiment is from Birdie Brown's Class Act stamp set. It was stamped with Chocolate Brown Hybrid Ink onto Primitive Cream cardstock, die cut with the Say What speech bubble Die-namics, then sponged with Brick Red dye ink. Hemp Cord was custom colored with E19 Copic marker and tied around the top box flap to keep it closed. Falling Leaves were die cut from Tangy Orange cardstock and sponged with Chocolate Brown ink.
I have the pencil box template/instructions I created available as a free download, if you'd like to use it: Download Pencil Box Template_Sharon Harnist
All the instructions are written on the PDF download. It holds seven standard un-sharpened pencils and the finished size measures 7-3/4" x 2-1/4" x 1/2". My box is made from MFT's Chocolate Brown cardstock stamped with Whip Cream Pigment ink and the Fine Check Background.
Next up is a sweet raccoon card:
This is the card project for the image I colored in the video I shared yesterday. (Direct link to video HERE, in case you missed it). He was popped up on foam tape on an InstaFrame Die-namics, cut from Smooth White cardstock and stamped with the cute arrow and solid heart from the same stamp set.
The sweet sentiment was silver heat embossed on the Wild Cherry card front, which was also die cut with Peek-A-Boo Heart Frames and stamped with the open heart from this set:
UPDATE 9/19/14: You can find a video tutorial for the raccoon coloring on this blog post.
We can't forget sweet squirrel ... here she is, with a bag of nuts for someone:
She was stamped onto her coordinating Die-namics, colored with the Copic markers listed below in the Supply section, and adhered with foam tape to her cute little Paper Bag die cut from Natural cardstock and stamped with the Fine Check Background in Natural ink (can you tell how much I love this new background stamp?!!).
I cut around her hand to make a slot for the large nut from this set to fit. The heart on the nut was outlined with Lipstick Copic Atyou Spica Glitter Pen:
The sentiment was gold heat embossed onto Chocolate Brown cardstock die cut with Labels 4 STAX and tied with Hemp Cord colored with Copic R27 marker.
UPDATE 9/19/14: You can find a video tutorial for the squirrel coloring on this blog post.
And I couldn't stop there, these critters are so cute, so how about some student or teacher gifts -- customized mini composition books (I couldn't resist them while school supply shopping last month)!!
Each of the Cute Critters were stamped onto their coordinating Die-namics (cut from X-Press It Blending Card) and colored similarly as above, but this time the raccoon was made into a girl, by coloring her cheeks with Copic R20! The critters were adhered to coordinating scalloped frames from Blueprints 19 and then popped up on the BP19 bracket label and adhered to the 4.50" x 3.25" composition notebooks.
Names were customized using the Negative Dot Alphabet Die-namics and then tied with Hemp Cord.
Whew, that was a lot of info -- thanks for sticking with me! And thanks so much for joining me the past week and for your very kind comments -- they always make me smile! I'll be back on Thursday for our MFT September Release Rewind -- I hope you'll join me for some more new release project ideas then! And don't forget about this tid-bit:
Don't leave yet: MFT is generously awarding two $100 gift vouchers to be chosen at random! Simply leave a comment here on my blog post by the end of the day on Thursday, Sept 18 for your chance to WIN! Winners will be announced on the MFT Blog on Friday. Ready? Set, Comment … and good luck!

So much of your projects I want to comment on, but I think briefness is appreciated. I recognize the work involved in each and every project you've shown, and how you've brought out the cuteness factor, the humorous factor, the specialness factor, and the factor factor. Seriously, your work is so appreciated and taken to heart to work hard enough to become great at paper work like you are. Thanks for what you've done through this wonderful Blog Hop.
