From beautiful, brand new sheets, to pre-cut card bases, to the tiniest of scraps, a rainbow of card stock is a happy visual reminder of our love for all things paper. Today's My Favorite Things Design Team organizational challenge is Cardstock!
I store my most-used cardstock within easy reach of my desk (on top of the desk hutch which is behind my stamping area), in white IKEA Kassett Magazine Files, by color families. These come in a 2-pack, are very affordable, and come in a variety of colors to match your space.
Cardstock Color Family Categories:
Pink-Red, Orange-Yellow, Green, BG(Blue Green)-Blue-Violet, Ivory/Cream, White, Neutrals
Another great storage solution from Jennifer McGuire, I use these Job Ticket Holders to hold my cardstock. They easily hold an entire pack of 25 sheets of heavyweight cardstock and are nice and sturdy, to keep it protected. They make it very easy to pull the sheets out (and put them back), and it's easy to see how much you have left. Usually anything 1/4 of a sheet or larger goes back into these pockets. They also contain some pre-cut and scored card bases.
Here again, I use my trusty Label Maker to label the holders with the cardstock color:
For pieces of cardstock 1/4 of a sheet or less, I file the pieces in this fancy filing system I made (LOL -- an inexpensive photo storage box with handmade folders!), which sits next to my die cutting machine so I can quickly grab whatever color I need. It is also easy to quickly file away scraps:
You can find full details on how to create my scrap cardstock file and folders, using MFT's File Folder Edges Die-namics HERE.
Another handy cardstock resource I use is a cardstock sampler ring. This one was made using the My Favorite Things Tag, You're It Die-namics. A sampler makes it easy to find just the right cardstock color match to patterned paper or colored images!
Or use it to try out color combos to see how they will look together:

Thanks so much for joining me for the past three days ... we'll be back tomorrow with our final day and area of organization -- can you guess what it will be? :)
OMG so many great ideas. Thought my way of storing paper was good, but this tops it. Thanks,

You ladies all have some great storage ideas. You HAVE to be organized if you want to have this hobby. Great job.

Now I love this idea for storing paper. Girl, you are so organized. :)

I have also been storing my cardstock in the job holder envelopes and I am thrilled with it. I really like the idea of the storage box with the dividers for smaller scraps. My current system is ridiculous. I have to try this.

Wow - great ideas! Paper is the hardest thing for me to store and keep track of. I'll be putting many of your ideas to good use! :)

My paper and cards are all over the place in boxes of all kind
as I have not got a craft room it is quite hard to store things properly.
This idea is brilliant and I will defo.get to Ikea for some magazine
files this weekend. Not sure if I can get hold of the job pockets but
I think I can get something similar. Like the ring with all the card samples
Thank you for sharing and giving us all these great idea's.

What great storage ideas. I like both of your ideas and will try to incorporate both of them into my own personal storage. I have too much paper and need to do something about the storage issue since I really don't know what I have. Looks like I will be doing some cleaning up and organizing. Loved all the suggestions this week. Thank you so much.

Love storing my paper in the Job Ticket pockets! They are a little protected from fading that way, too.

This is FANTASTIC!!! I'm in love with paper. I already us the filing folder for my 8 1/2 by 11 sheets of cards stock but my problem is storing by 12x12 sheets and stacks of designer paper. I have been trying to fine something that will work. I just started this with my dp when I have scraps from that stack I'm using, I use a plastic baggie and keep then with the scraps this way if I need a paper from that stack I will have something that I have already used and might be able to use it. I hope you understand what I'm saying. I do try and keep my scraps of papers organized in the colors. Thanks for sharing.

Sharon, I love it!

Holy cow Sharon, that is one super organized craft area! I can't even imagine having my cardstock that organized. It all gets shoved into one big drawer and then scraps into another. That's as organized as my papers get.

What a great idea for the scrap paper. Much better than what I do. Just on top of each other in a small box. Love that idea!

Your ideas on this are awesome! I love the idea of keeping your scraps, this is ingenious! I have them in a file storage system, and scraps are hard to get with this system, but the little photo box is an awesome idea! Thank you so much for sharing your super ideas!
